Forsaken

The beginning

It was the day that Carl the delivery guy showed up at my front door. With his scruffy mustache, and itchy beard, and fake deliver smile. He knocked on the house door, and looked down at his clipboard. I approached him. He didn't look up. "Abigail Jenson?" He called my name loudly. I shook. "Oh! Sorry miss, I didn't see you there." I shook that off. No one ever did. "That's ok. Is that my new computer?" I eyed the package in his hand. "Yeah, it is." He handed the box to me. I cradled it. He left without another word. Chad. I wanted to remember that name. But I wish i hadn't, because it was that late summer afternoon, when that package entered my life, i wanted to die.

It was the summer before when I became noticed. When the kids in school started to notice me. It was only because I started a school newspaper, and everyone wanted to be in it. Many people treated me like gold just so i would put them in. But through out last year, in the 6th grade, we didn't know any better. We were kids. Now, as we were going into 7th, we started to mature. I was 13 years old, and I had finally gotten my computer.

Me, being clueless. As I am, set the box on the table and started to open it. I knew I had no idea how to set it up, but i wanted to see what It looked like. I tore the packaging open, and unveiled the sliver laptop with slick keys that were perfect. I fell instantly in love with it. I pulled out my phone and started to text my BFF, Amber. She answered right away. "U got it? is it cool?" I replied, "yeah. it is still kinda hard 2 but 2gether tho."
":)" I loved Amber. She was always there for me. Always loyal. I saw my mother pull into our rocky driveway. Then, with the summer air, and my family home, school started in 2 days. I knew that this was going to be the best year ever.
