Chapter 2

*The next day. . .*
As you arrive, you see your friends talking as usual, West and Jez not taking their eyes off each other as they do so. 'Nothing too hostile...' you think as you walk up to them, and greet them as usual. Looking around, you see people talking as usual, some studying, some tossing a ball, Ayono staring avidly at you, some eating, some g- wait a second. You look back at Ayono, who keep staring, before noticing you staring back at her, and tries to play it off as a wave and a smile, then runs off again. 'What's with her...?' You tune back in to your friends, and hear Saige trying to get the two to calm down again. "You two are always fighting about SOMEthing." You say as you shake your head and walk off. Hearing the bell ring, you make your way to class and sat down. As the teacher picked right back up where they left off yesterday, you couldn't help but feel like you were being watched. Glancing around the room, you notice Ayono sitting behind you, staring intently at the back of your head. When she sees you looking at her, she attempts to play it off as trying to read the board, but you know better. You give a friendly wave, startling her and making her blush. Shyly, she waves back at you. Turning back around, you see her grinning stupidly. Once class starts, you start taking notes. You can still feel her eyes on the back of your head though, yet you ignore it, instead focusing on the classwork at hand.

Next thing you know, the bell rings and you pack up your stuff, without noticing Ayono slip something into your bag as you do. The next couple classes were uneventful, and Ayono-free. Before you could properly register what's going on, the bell for lunch rings, and you leave to join your friends at your usual table. West and Jez seemed to have dropped the conversation about which is better, thankfully. "So why don't we hang out after school?" West says "Of course, I'm driving!" he adds. "Where we hanging out at?" Saige says, not looking up from her book. "Jesus, you always got your nose buried in a damn book." West sighs, shaking his head. "Wherever the hell we want, that's where! Well- Except the library, unless you want to act like you don't know us, cause we gonna act a fool in there, and it won't be complete until we get thrown on out on our asses!" He finishes, slapping his hand down on the table. "I'm interested in where this'll go... Count me in." Jez says. "Yeah, I'll come along too." You add. Saige rolls her eyes, shuts her book, and says "You idiots would get yourselves arrested without me. I'm going too." "Then it's settled! We all go after school!" West says happily, just as the bell rings, signaling the end of lunch. You all return to your respective classes, anticipating the end of the day. You all finish up, and leave the cafe. Somebody stops you though, and your friends stop too, waiting for you. You turn around to see who it was, and it turns out it was a girl. Kinda cute, too. "Eh, go on ahead. I'll catch up with ya." They nod and continue walking, leaving you alone with the girl. "So what's up?" You ask. "Heyyy, there Y/N.." she says in a flirty kind of voice. "I'm Harime. Harime Sadamoto. I've noticed you for awhile, and you seem like a pretty great person, so I was wondering if you wanted to go out on a date with me?" You hear a giggling, and look over, to see your friends quickly ducking back behind a wall. Rolling your eyes, you turn back to Harime. "I mean... We could hang out together, sure. When and where?" "How about the park, 5 PM?" "Works for me! "She giggles and waves, walking away, and you do the same, rejoining your friends, most of which are trying to keep a straight face. "Ya heard that, huh?" West quickly starts laughing. "Every word! She crushing on you bro!" He says, nudging you with his elbow. Saige pipes up "Come on guys! We gotta get to class before we're late." You all agree half-heartedly, and part ways.

The final bell of the day rings, and you go and meet your friends outside, where West is waiting in his yellow H2 with big chrome rims, honking his loud-ass semi-truck horn and yelling "Come on y'all! We burnin fuel here!" Jez arrives, and shouts "Shut that damn noise up! Makin' all that damn racket." West just keeps honking, grinning like a maniac. "I will SLASH YOUR TIRES!" Jez yells. "Try it!" West retorts. Jez pulls out a knife and slashes at the low profile rear tire. West smokes the tires, yet there isn't a change. She slashes again. No change. Repeatedly slashing at the tires, there still isn't a change. "Damn it!" Jez shouts, finally giving up. West stops doing a burnout, but remains honking. You walk out with Saige, seeing Jez hanging her head, knife in hand, right next to West's unaffected tire. "Come on everybody! Get in!" Saige groans. "This is already sounding like a worse and worse idea..." You both go over, and get in, persuading Jez to get in as well. West finally stops honking, revs the engine, and races off. "Where to first?" he asks. Everybody just looks at each other and shrugs. "Well, let's go grab a bite first."
