Chapter 8

     I wake up, looking around. Wasn't I just in the cafeteria. I find myself in the school nurses office. What happened? Why do I feel so warm. I notice the bead of sweat forming on my face. I see a cloth next to me. I sipe the sweat away. Just as I'm about to sit up, Ellie walks in.
    "Kathy, what the h***? You were so ill, you punned. You sounded like you were drunk. You KISSED Mich!" She yells.
    "Eh? EHHHHHHH!? B-but... I-i... don't remember..." I reply to her criticism.
    "I bet, your fever was really high. I bet Mich won't be going to school 'cause of you!"
    "I'm sorry..."
    I look down in shame. It's not my fault I'm sick... My head throbs. Ugh, I feel like I just had a sugar crash. Worst I've ever felt! Mich and Aaronn walk in. I remember Ellie's words. My face flushes. I look at my hands. I see someone's warm hand lie on my own. I look up and see Aaronn. Oddly my face burns more. I whip my head away from him.
    "Hey, Kathyrine, you okay. You were acting crazy." Aaronn tells me.
    "S-so I'm t-told... I'm s-sorry." I say, tears slipping down my face.
    "Hey, Kathy, don't cry. It's not your fault you're sick... mostly."
    I hug Aaronn, he's my good friend. When I let go, his face is pink. He then goes to the wall and hits his head...
    "Aaronn, you'll get a concussion. Stahp!" Ellie scolds.
    Aaronn stops and leaves. I'm confused now. I notice Mich staring at me. I give him a weak smile. He walks up to me. His face is really close to mine. I headbutt him. I don't want him to get ill. Ellie hits his head.
    "Bad, Michael, bad!" She yells at the boy covering his forehead.
    "What am I? A frickin' dog?" He complains.
    "Yesh. Now sit and be a good boy. No kissing my Kathy."
    At those words my face burns and his goes red. Ellie laughs at us. I start to giggle. Finally Mich is laughing. I decide to apologize to Mich. I go up to him and, I surprise myself, hugging him. I eventually feel his arms wrap around my torso. I start flailing my arms around.
    "Just make out already!" Ellie teases.
    I rip from his arms, embaressed. I grab my hood and pull it over my face. I realise something.
    "Ellie, what time is it?" I ask.
    "Its 3pm why?" She replys.
    "I better be getting home then."
    "Actually, my mom called. Apparently, your parents had to go visit your grandmother. So you're staying with us."
    "Oh..."
    As I'm about to leave, Mich calls my name. I walk over to him.
    "Y-yes?" I ask.
    "You're too cute for your own good..." he tells me...
    I blush, hard. Next thing I know, his face is close to my own. Before I can do anything, something super embarrassing happens. His lips are against my own. I just stand there, wide-eyed and shocked. He breaks it. My face burns even more. I run to Ellie and bury my face in my hands. I can't believe it. MICHAEL MICHRINE KISSED ME! How am I suppossed to face him tomorrow!?
