Chapter 4

    The moment fourth period ends, I go to the school cafeteria. I always sat at table seven anyway. Ellie walks over and takes a seat. In a way, me and Ellie are like sisters. She gives me a quarter slice of her ham sandwich. I don't have hot lunch or home lunch, so I share with Ellie. I see someone else walk over. He sat next to me. I look at his face and notice it's Jacob.
    "So, Kathyrine Hart, will you date me?" He asks shyly.
    "I-i'm sorry. I d-don't feel the s-same. So I-i have t-to say n-n-no..." I stutter.
    "Oh, sorry for bugging you, Kathyrine."
    "Y-you didn't b-bug me at a-all."
    I watch him walk away, his head hanging. I feel bad for rejecting him now. Although, I don't have the same feeling for him that he has me. I stare down at the table. Elllie speaks up.
    "H-hey, um, it's not bad to reject someone. It just means they get another chance for love!" Ellie says knowing my issue.
    "Y-yeah your r-right." I smile.
    I feel eyes watching me. I look at table 3, and Aaronn and Mich are looking at Ellie and myself. My face feels hot. My heart is beating fast.
    "Kathy. Kathy! KATHY!"
    "Huh, wha?" I ask stupidly.
    "Stop staring at him. People are glaring..." Ellie explains.
    I look around. Girls are glaring at me. I feel a chill down my spine. I stand up and leave the cafeteria. Im scared that something will happen. I notice Becky and Nicole following me. Owwww. Why me?
    "Hey, Kathyrine, can I, like, talk for a moment?" Becky asks.
    "U-uhm. S-sure, Becky." I mumble.
    "Mich is cute. He should be mine. But, you like him. So back of or else. Like, capichè?"
   "What's th-the else?"
   She snaps her fingers. Nicole brings out scissors. She takes a small piece of my long, brown hair. She snips a piece of it. Then I get slapped. The two girls walk away, laughing, leaving me terrified. I have to stay away from Mich. The bell rings. I hope Mich isn't in my history.
