Digging a deeper hole

Diane punched Mira in the nose. Mira was angry, and shocked. Mira was very strong, her inner depression, and pent up rage makes her naturally aggressive. Before Mira could make a move Rick stepped between the girls. "Diane stop! I already told you we're never going to get back together". "I know you want me Rick. Just let me get this obstacle out of our way!" Diane somehow got around Rick, and hit Mira in the side. This time Mira quickly punched Diane in the stomach. Diane stood there for a minute, because the blow she took hurt really bad.
     Mira fast-walked over to Kassandra, and Carrie. "Girl that was awesome! She always gets like so jealous she does this".
Carrie said with excitement. Kassandra added "Yeah I so wouldn't have the guts to do that." Mira changed from being upset to feeling proud. This is the first time in 13 years that Mira has had real friends. She didn't know how it felt to have real friends, until know, and it felt great to her. Rick walked over towards Mira. He was tired of hearing the how much Diane wants to get back together with him.
     "Hey Mira you really made Diane mad, but she lost the urge to fight, for now". Rick said with a grateful tone.  I just got tired of hearing her you know, she already pretty much  stalks me on social media, if she does all that I shouldn't have to deal with her in real life". Rick playfully added. "Well, great thing I got her away from you. Mira said in a flirty tone. Rick flashed his cute smile once again. Mira couldn't help but smile a little.  Rick, and Mira decided to leave the party. Rick walked Mira to her dorm. "Bye." Rick said with another winning smile. Mira blushed a little bit, but she turned around so Rick couldn't see, and then replied "Bye"! Rick walked to his dorm with a light, happy feeling in his heart. He got to go somewhere with Mira, and he had a feeling Diane wouldn't try to call him for at least a week.
    Mira went into the dorm room. Kassandra was still out. "She'll probably be out all night" Thought Mira, just before a yawn. "Is Diane going to keep on with Rick? Does Rick like Diane? Does Rick actually like me"? Those thoughts raced in Mira's mind. She desperately wished she had answers. Of course she couldn't just ask. Mira feels like she's going to have to compete with Diane. Will she? Mira dozed off with an uneasy feeling. The next day Mira was only going to do afternoon classes, but she woke up early anyway. She had things she wanted to do. "I know Rick is taking morning classes today, and Kassandra probably is too, she's not here". Mira said to herself. Kassandra stepped a little bit out of the bathroom, and asked "What?" Kassandra heard what Mira said, though. "Nothing...." Replied Mira. "It's okay Mira, you were emotional last night, and you want to be alone, and especially don't want to run into Diane. Lucky for you I'm going to my morning classes." Kassandra said with cheer, and understanding. "Kassandra's probably has lots of experience with guys, and their exes.' Thought Mira. Later Mira wanted to talk to Kassandra about it. Mira planned, today she was going shopping. She wanted to make herself more attractive. Maybe Rick would forget all about Diane, maybe not even say another word to her.....
