Chapter 7- Dark blood still bleeds
I ran through the trees, crashing through branches and bushes alike. The soft thumping of beating wings behind me got closer and closer. This crazed Angel wouldn't leave me be. My name, Azriel, means 'Angel of Death' but it does not mean I want to meet one.I jumped over a log, and landed in a clearing. I kept running, not even bothering to slow down. I cursed, wishing I could teleport out of here. But if I did I would be too tired to make another portal if they caught me. So instead I ran.
I was almost out of the clearing when I heard a whistle of metal sliding through air. Suddenly, a piercing, burning, pain struck my side. I stumbled from the blow, landing hard in the dirt. I growled and saw a silvery Angel metal spear, the tip of which was black with poison. Then they landed in front of me.
A pretty Angel girl, one with fiery wings, landed and with one graceful movement picked up her fallen spear. I had only enough time to flip over on my back before she put the tip to my chest.
I glared at her.
"Tell me where solus is, or the last thing you'll see is me."
I smiled, knowing it would throw her off and because I knew something she didn't .
"Worse monsters then you have tried, and failed, to get information out of me. Even something as simple as that."
She growled and shoved the tip towards my throat. I flinched slightly, but otherwise didn't move.
"Tell me what I want to know. I'm not afraid to kill you."
"if you kill me you'll lose your info source. "
She hesitated, and her spear edged away from my neck. In a flash I grabbed it, moved it to the side, and kicked her as hard as I could with my feet. With my extra strength, she got flung against a tree. But she wasn't nearly as far as I wished. I got up and ran. My side burned furiously as my magic repelled whatever poisons she attacked me with. I knew that it would only weaken me more. That is, if I lived longer then a few hours.
I ran as fast and as hard as I dared. while I ran I laid a hand over my wound, to support it. almost immediately I took it away and was surprised to see the sound bled a lot more then I expected. My dark blood covered my whole hand. I cursed and wished there was somewhere I could hide in.
I heard the thump of wings again, and I knew that very soon she would catch up. The only way I'd be faster is if I teleport, which I won't do, or if I had wings of my own, which I don't.
I felt like a mouse scurrying away from a hunting hawk. My heart beat in my ears as I ran.
Suddenly, as I stepped, my feet didn't touch the ground. The next thing I knew I was falling, tumbling around and around. I curled up and tucked my head as I got bashed about. When it finally stopped I waited a moment, then uncurled.
I gasped as my whole body shrieked with pain. Nothing was broken, besides maybe a rib, but I was bruised and scraped from the fall. I winced, laying there for a moment, then slowly stood up. I stumbled slightly as I took in my new surroundings.
I was in a cave, definitely a underground one, and it was cold, wet, and dark. I shivered slightly, and looked around for a exit. My eyes adjusted instantly to the dark, till I could see perfectly fine. I walked onward, into the cave.
About a hour later I stopped and cursed yet again. It was a dead end. I was weak, and tired, and cold. I couldn't go on anymore without a break. I NEEDED to rest.
I sat against the cold hard wall of the cave, resting my head against it. My side still burned, so whatever poison that physco used on me was obviously still affecting me. I sighed. My day wasn't going as planned...
First I had travelled around, teleporting from one place to another as I ran from my sister and her crush, Alex. Then I had bought Ash some flowers, only to realise Solus woke up. Which was good and all, but it was better with him asleep. That way I didn't have to worry about making anything awkward for Ash. I also didn't have to worry about Solus trying to kill me. And then, to make matters worse, I was tracked and hunted down by a Angel. Not to mention this particular Angel obviously KNOWS how to track and has been ignoring every spell I had cast to get to me. Now I'm sitting here, in a dark dank cave, with no supplies or food, possibly stuck here until morning. The sun will go down in about a hour.
Frustrated and angry with myself for getting into this situation, I punched the wall. I scraped my knuckles on the hard wall and growled. Then I just sighed and rested my head weakly against the wall. I felt weak, tired... The rocks were looking as soft as pillows. It wouldn't be hard to..
I shook my head, snapping out of it. I had almost missed it, but the magic defending against the poison is weakening. Which means whatever effects it has might start to affect me. That didn't change the fact I was exhausted though.
Then I looked down at my side and was startled to see a small pool of blood by it. My injury was bleeding at a rapid rate. I hadn't noticed it, but my side seemed colder then usual. I sighed, then dug around in my pockets.
With relief I pulled out a needle and thread. I always kept it with me in case of situations like this, and, well, for sewing up holes and cuts in my clothes.
I looked down at my side again and took off my sweater so I was just wearing my tank top. The wound was long, and quite deep.
I laced the thread through the eye of the needle, and braced myself.
After I was done, I laid back and sighed. A large pool of blood was now by me. I was completely spent.
I slowly closed my eyes. If I was going to be stuck in here.... Wait... What was my thought again? I was too tired to even think. As I closed my eyes I felt my magic give out as the poison took its toll. The last thing I knew was my head hitting the ground as I passed out
