Chapter 5- Gilded wings

"Solus since when did you have those?" He pointed to my back.
"My wings?"
"No- I mean yes- I mean... I don't know."
Confused I twisted around to look at my back, but I only saw my two large wings.
"I don't see anything."
"Its under your wings. These." Ash pointed then reached out and touched something on my back. I jolted as I felt a big, very sensitive, feeling attack me where she touched. It felt like a mix of pins and needles, and it sent tingles up my spine. I shivered uncomfortable. I heard my heart beating steadily in my ears, and I realized that whatever Ash did it filled me with adrenaline. I felt as if I was about to go into a fight or run for my life.
"W-w-what was t-that?" My voice shook without meaning to, and I swallowed.
"What was what?"
"W-what you d-did. T-that."
"I just touched these two little things back here."
I looked away embarrassed and swallowed. After a moment Scratch seemed to realize something and giggled.
"He's sensitive."
"Shut up..." I almost never acted so rude, but I was embarrassed and didn't want to talk about it. Scratch just grinned.
"Guess what Solus, you've got two baby wings growing out of your back."
"What!?" I turned around, again trying to futilely look for them. Ash helped by gently touching the ends of them and moving them up into view. I felt the tingles rush through me again and I suppressed a shiver.
They weren't wrong. Two small golden wings were coming from my lower back, right under my large ones. They glistened beautifully, catching light and sending it around the room. They looked to be made of pure gold. There was one single white feather in their mist, and it stood out gloriously. I never suspected that I would grow more then my one set of wings. The sight amazed me.
I remembered back when I first grew my wings. They started out pure white with gold at the base. They were small, very sensitive, and couldn't fly yet. But I loved them.
"Their beautiful, Solus." I looked at Ash and they smiled. They must've seen the look on my face.
I smiled back, again grateful for her support.
"Thanks."
"No problem."

When Ash left the room I looked at Scratch.
"Your acting differently."
"It was a long seven months."
"Its not long to a angel, and its about a single month to a demon. What have you been doing while I was gone?"
He hesitated and looked away.
"I'm trying to be a better person. Does that anwser your question?"
"Partly. What were you going to give to Ash?"
Scratch smirked.
"Your quite persistent huh."
"I want to know what happened while I was gone."
"But its more then that, right?"
I went quiet. I admit there was some part of me, a suspicion, that they were getting quite close. And I suspected that Scratch knew more then he said. In fact, I was certain of it.
"It doesn't matter. Where are my clothes? I need to change."
"I'd say. walking around with your muscles showing isn't going to be good."
Or my scar, I thought silently.
