Chapter 26- Incomplete
I laid in bed, staring at the ceiling. How had Scratch managed to beat me so easily..?
I was at a loss for words.
I knew his increase in magic made him stronger...
But something else was going on.
I saw it in his eyes. Something else was there. And I had no doubt that just for a moment, those few moments, It had the wheel.
And it was controlling or influencing Azriel.
I sighed and shook my head, rolling over so I faced the wall by my bed.
That's all I had thought about since it happened.
How he had beat me...
And how I can beat him.
I also wondered how Blaise was doing, over with him. I had no doubt that going with him was the right choice on her part, but I wish she had stayed. If only so I could talk to someone.
I sighed and shut my eyes. It was too late at night to think things like this, and I was exhausted. It would have to wait until morning.
I yawned and opened my eyes. I rubbed them, then swung my legs over the bed and stood up. I got dressed, then went to a chest in the corner of the room. I blew on it and opened it up, my incomplete armour shining within.
This armour was the only thing I had left of my dad. He had lost it in a fight with the humans, the same day he lost his life. They had torn his armour from him, until this was all that's left. A incomplete set that once belonged to the most respected angel out there.
I felt connected to it on a much deeper level.
And that's when a plan sprung into my mind.
What if I completed the armour? I know it enhances magical and physical abilities. That might be what I need.
Then if Azriel goes crazy I can at least stand a chance.
I nodded my mind made up, and started packing things up for the long trip ahead of me.
Just as I was about to leave Ash saw me.
"Solus..? What are you doing? Why do you have a backpack on?"
"Its too long to explain, but I'm going to recover a old armour set. It was given to me by my dad."
"But why? You were doing just fine without it."
"Like I said its too much to explain in such little time. But I MUST go now. Do you understand?"
She looked sad. She hugged me tightly.
"I wish I could go with you.."
"Its better by myself. I'm sorry."
"I-its ok.. I understand. When will you get back?"
"I... I actually have no idea. But I'll go as fast as I can for you."
She smiled a little, and kissed my cheek.
"Good luck, Solus."
