The monster

POV: Girl

        Mommy hasn't talked since we got here. She spilled red milk all the way here. Maybe she's tired, because she's been sleeping for a long time. The boy from home saw me leave with the monster. I wonder if he will come get me and mommy. The monster stays in the cave for most of the day. He eats meat from the back of the cave. I wonder if he has hamburgers. I would love a hamburger. I haven't eaten today because mommy was making hamburgers, even though that's what she always said when I was hungry. I haven't eaten in a long time and mommy says I'm sick. Stupid squirrels! Mommy always told me that the squirrels ate the burgers.

        I asked the monster for a hamburger. All he said was, "You don't need it." But I do Mr. Monster! I'm really hungry! The flies seem to really like mommy lately. She's still asleep. She doesn't wake up no matter how much I yell and shake her. She's really cold too. I tried to cuddle with her and I got shivers everywhere. I also got red milk on my shirt. Gross! My pretty blue shirt! Mommy made this shirt for me. She even put a picture of my favourite flower on it. Why did you put your red milk everywhere mommy? Where did you get so much?

        The monster took mommy to the back of the cave today. Maybe he has hamburgers back there. Maybe he's going to feed her and give her medicine and put her under a blanket. So she can come back and play with me! Then all of us can play together and be happy. Besides, my belly keeps making weird noises. I begged and begged the monster for food. "Please Mr. Monster! My belly's yelling at me! It wants food!" He left the cave after that. But when he came back, he had an apple! It was so good and full of juices! It's not as good as mommy's hamburgers, but it made my belly happy!

        Mommy is still gone. I asked Mr. Monster if I could see my mommy today. He told me that she was resting. But I want to play! The ground of the cave is made of rock and it's hard to sleep, but I can't leave without mommy! Besides I don't think Mr. Monster would let me leave anyways.
