I Didn't Die
Even though the government took all the men in town, they didn’t take any huntsman from anywhere. Their reasons being, they needed to stay, nothing more was said on the matter.
“Will…” was all I could get out before I lost consciousness.
I honestly don’t remember anything else of that day; I only remember what Will told me. He said that he got what was in the basket to my grandmother, and the help he brought with him took both her and me to the hospital. I asked how he knew I was in trouble and he said he didn’t at first, what he said was, “I was only after the wolf, but after I saw that it was following you I went back to town to get help. I got up to where you two were right after he picked you up. I made up a plan and went with it.” He kept talking but I interrupted him with a question, “What of my father?”
My father was found dead soon after my accident. They found a note in his pocket written to my mother and I. I read it everyday and still wish I could tell him of my one day that went wrong.
The war still goes on and not many men have returned, but to this day I will always be in debt to the huntsman’s son and will always think of him to be braver than any soldier.
