The Wolf
The same eyes appeared in the bushes. And out walked a wolf.
Once out of the bushes, it stood on its hind legs at a full height of seven feet. As I was taught to not show fear, I said the first thing that came to mind.
“Work out much?” I regretted saying this as soon as he picked me up by the neck and answered back.
“Everyday,” he said with a tooth-full grin.
He was about to bite my head off but I didn’t give him the chance. I reacted with a powerful kick in the throat. He howled in pain as he dropped me. I fell to the ground with a thud.
Coughing, I said, “You shouldn’t have underestimated me.”
He got down on all fours and growled, “I wasn’t. I was just testing you.” He gave another one of his grins.
He came even closer and scratched my legs. I screamed in pain and fell down again. At this point I didn’t even care if he ate me, as I thought I couldn’t come up with a reason for him to let me live.
FWOOSH!!
I looked up to see the wolf on the ground with an arrow in his chest, dead.
