We Are Soldiers!

We Are Soldiers!

In a world where danger lurks at every shadow, can these cats survive? Humans have begun capturing cats and doing experiments on them left and right. Some show positive signs, making them have powers. And others show negative signs, turning them into soulless monsters. Few cats escape and hide. We are those cats. We are Soldiers!

(Chapter 4)

~~ Normal P.O.V. ~~

It was the second week at the new location and Lyna was zoning out in the clearing, not really doing anything. As she glanced around she spotted Kuturo, who was speaking to someone but she couldn't tell who it was. She ran over to Kuturo, who was chatting with Tay.

"Hey Kuturo! Hey Tay!" Lyna greeted the two cats. "Hey Lyna." Kuturo grinned, happy as usual. "Hi Lyna." Tay greeted Lyna with a smile. "So, what're you two talking about?" Lyna asked curiously. She seemed to be in a good mood, which was good.

"Nothing much. Just talking about who will go out and hunt today and all that stuff," Kuturo shrugged as he spoke. Lyna made an 'oh' noise and nodded. Brick padded over and attempted to flirt with both Lyna and Tay at the same time, confusing the two she-cats. "Get lost Brick!" Kuturo growled, his voice threatening. Brick retorted back art Kuturo, angering him and Lyna.

"Hey! No need for that language, you big jerk! Nobody, and I mean nobody insults or messes with my friends!" Lyna hissed harshly, stepping protectively in front of Kuturo. Brick took a step back, obviously frightened. She thought about freezing him, but Tay stepped in front of her before she could

"Please don't freeze him Lyna! I know what you are capable of and I won't let you freeze another cat!" Tay pleaded. Lyna muttered something under her breath and stormed away angrily. Kuturo followed to see if he could help her calm down, But when he found her, he saw something that he thought he would never see. His best and sweetest friend, Lyna, was slumped over in the shadows, her shoulders wracking with sobs.

"Lyna..?! What's wrong!?" Kuturo asked, panicked. He never thought he would see his toughest friend cry (even though they only met 2 weeks ago). "I-I just w-want my f-family back!" Lyna choked out, her voice shaking. Kuturo sat beside her and wrapped his tail around her.

"We'll do what we can to find them," He said, trying to soothe Lyna. He knew it was working, because her cries had turned into muffled hiccups. After a little while, the sky had started to darken and the moon was beginning to slide into the sky. Kuturo looked down at Lyna and realized that she had fallen asleep.

Kuturo sighed wearily and gently lifted Lyna up onto his back. He launched himself into the air and scanned the clearing for Lyna's nest. When he had finally found it, he swooped down and landed swiftly next to it. He carefully tucked Lyna into her nest. After he had placed her in the nest, he studied Lyna's sleeping face. She looked so peaceful and so beautiful. Kuturo whispered, "Goodnight Lyna," Before lifting into the air to go to his own nest.
