Reunion With An Old Friend

The attack.

I looked among my people. All so full of hope, I gave them hope, my brother and myself. Our words, our calm faces, our power. They were protected by us. We were advanced beyond Mobians by our advanced minds and power. "Citizens," Shaden called holding his staff in front of the crowd, beginning his speech. The swirl of white in his black gaia sphere glowed. The staff was a blue colored with black pointed designs with a green emerald on the bottom. My staff was a black staff with a purple design around it in a swirl with a red bow on the bottom. Life and death. The thing about our staffs was how they were designed. Because our staffs had different designs.  If someone in our family touched the staff it will change designs just like if Shaden and I switched staffs the designs would change except for the orbs themselves. I smiled at my citizens and waves politely as my brother continued on with his speech.
"It is once again time to celebrate a joyous occasion. The winter festival!" Everyone cheered. Our winter festival was like six days of Christmas. All the same traditions but with our own touch. I smiled as Shaden lifted his staff and I mirrored him. "Haljinka extramos," we both yelled. The snow spell. Shaden had my mothers old spell book and he taught me some. It began to snow and the air around us felt cold as more people cheered. I shivered a little but smiled along with my people. Then bam! I looked up and saw a huge ship shoot another laser near the crowd of people. "Diamond shield!" I cried creating a shield so they wouldn't be hit. It worked gladly but my brother flew up.
The happy atmosphere was gone now. People were afraid. All I could hear was panic, crying, and sadness. An alien in a weird suit walked over to my brother. "I'm afraid I have bad news for you, your highness." he replied looking at my brothers staff. "You are in no position to be in control anymore." Before I could say anything they shot him.
"Shaden!" I screamed seeing him fall onto the balcony. The alien grabbed his staff and broke it. I saw them turn to me. "Let me go!" I replied. There was to many, they had me down. "Take her prisoner," the alien replied. "Give that back!" I said as they ripped my staff from my grasp. An alien in different armor hissed at me before taking me away. The main one who they called Dark Oak grabbed Victoria, my little cousin. I didn't fight. It would only make things worse. I couldn't look as I felt her eyes on me. I felt her fear. "Let her go," I replied with no emotion. Dark Oak looked at me, then at her. He opened up a portal with my staff, the gaia orb, once white with life and a little swirl of black, was turning red. "Go to Mobius, tell Sonic the Hedgehog that the metarex are back." With that, she ran into the portal and it closed behind her. "Sonic please help," I mumbled before being taken away. "I need you."
