Meeting Candy

(This is Candy)

Once the tsunami reduced to a trickle, I went back inside. Then I realized I dropped my books. I turned around, groaning and started crawling around on my knees, looking through the bushes. When I had checked every bush and tree, i decided to try my luck by the fountain. I walked around it, even looked inside it, but with no avail. I turned around and came literally nose-to-nose with a short girl, smiling wider than i ever thought possible.
"Ahh!" I screeched and almost fell into the fountain, saving myself at the last second.

She had a short bob, a cute pink dress with yellow roses, and oh! She was holding my books! My surprise and anger faded into joy.
"Thank you thank you thank you!" I said. She giggled and handed me the books. Suddenly a soft meow came from her backpack. A look of dismay crossed her face as she turned around to reach inside of it.

"Cat," I said dumbly. She turned around.
"No, it's a dog," she said with with a serious expression.
"What?" I asked.
"Of course it's a cat silly!" she giggled again. I laughed uncertainly. She was weird. Her laughter stopped abruptly, and she just stared at me and gasped. I looked at myself. Two hands, two feet. What was she gasping about?
"I didn't get your name!" she said at last, smiling again. I stared at her. She blinked twice.
"Oh!" I gasped, suddenly returning to present time. "I'm Heather Feldman." She jumped a couple of times, then got into my face and said, "I'm Candy Winton! Nice to meet you!" She randomly hugged me and we half-toppled into the fountain. I stopped us with my hands, and my hoodie got soaked up until my elbows. I laughed despite myself. We got out of the fountain and started wringing out our clothes.
