75
It was the day of the 75th Hunger Games. Grove was ready to win. She was more than confident, although a memory of Effie somewhat taunted her."And may the odds ever be in your favor."
Grove shivered. Effie scared her. Grove also could not stop thinking about Cato. She thought about him in the woods with that district 1 girl, glimmer. Had Cato been cheating on her? Guys could be so confusing. She reminded herself to stay focused. The siren sounded and the games began. Once again she headed straight toward the cornucopia. She killed 5 people there. She was determined to win.
Once again she was the leader of the careers. She was greatly feared. No one tried to mess with her. One night it was cold outside. Another career thought so too so she huddled up next to him to conserve body heat. Cato saw this and was upset. He wrote her a mean letter but ended up throwing it away.
The next day a fellow tribute ate some poisonous berries and died, another ran off the cliff. It was down to her and 5 other people. She wanted to get home but she was enjoying herself with Cato gone and everything. Although she knew they were going to have to make up sometime. Her mom was right.
She needed to pay attention. All of the sudden she heard some rattling behind her. It was the other career. He was trying to kill her. She quickly killed him a and found another safe place to rest and get her life in order. Grove kind of wanted the games to last longer. She knew when it was over Cato would not leave her alone. She wanted to stay away from him as long as possible.
The next day Grove received a trident. It was from her favorite sponsorer. She was handy with a trident and made things go by faster.
