~Asher~ 5
We had been driving for so long with this weirdo, and I didn't know where we were going. Until they both gave me that big Camp Half-Blood talk. Long story short; I didn't believe them.Nothing they said made any sense whatsoever to me. I refused to believe I was related to this wackadoo. Though I had to admit he did emanate power, but lots of people did. It didn't prove that he was a god. We were driving down a weird lonely looking road when Apollo stopped talking and looked out the window. I did as well, looking past his head, and saw a girl laying in the grass who appeared to be sleeping.
"Demigod." Apollo murmured, but we kept driving. I wondered why we hadn't stopped for her. She looked distraught, in Pj's sleeping on the side of the road and all. Soon, we reached an area that looked exactly the same as the others we'd passed, and Apollo told my mom to stop the car. He got out and motioned for me to, too. I didn't have much choice so I did as he said. He pointed to a pine tree on top of a hill and said,
"Get past that, and find Cabin 7." He said, then he started walking in the other direction.
"Where are you going?" I was curious. He smiled.
"The Empire State Building." He continued walking and disappeared behind a layer of trees. I was curious enough to walk towards the tree. It didn't look like anything special, except for the dragon guarding it. I moved past it quickly and quietly, glad it was asleep. As soon as I got to the other side of the tree, I fell. I tumbled down the hill that I didn't know was that steep, and I hoped no one saw. How embarrassing would that be. Luckily, I don't think anyone noticed.
I ran towards the sounds I heard and found that they were coming from a large pavilion full of kids who were eating breakfast. We had been driving for hours, and I was starving. I walked into the room and all conversation stopped. Everyone looked at me, and someone ran away. They came back quickly with some guy. Wait, correction, some horse guy. I stared at him, trying to figure out how that was possible.
"Dude. You're half horse." I informed him. Laughter erupted and died quickly in the crowd. The horse-guy smiled.
"Yes. I've noticed." More laughter. "How did you get here?" He asked, and I told him about weirdo and the hill, skipping the part when I fell down. I wasn't that dirty anyway; it was mostly grass. The group of kids from one of the tables cheered when I finished my story.
"The Apollo cabin." The horse man - Chiron - explained. "Your siblings." I smiled at them and a few waved at me. One guy that looked about sixteen years old stood up and brought me over to the table with the other kids. They did look a little bit like me, now that I thought about it.
We finished breakfast together with the coolest magic plates I'd ever seen and they took my to the archery range. They had said that all Apollo kids were good at it. They gave me a bow looking way too excited for what we were doing.
On my first shot, I hit real close to the bull's eye. On my next few shots, I just kept getting worse.
"I have the worst aim of anyone in the world." I complained and dropped the bow.
"Can't be worse than Percy." One of the guys chuckled.
"Ok, so maybe you don't have the best aim. Oh well. I'm sure there are plenty of other things you're good at." My pride hurt hearing that come from a pretty girl. Too bad she was my sister. I got ready for a long day of things I wasn't good at.
