Four Friends
3rd Person POVTwo 13 year olds, a 12 year old, and a 14 year old sat on a squashy yellow couch in their private den. They had spent a whole summer sprucing up the basement of the 12 year old's uncle, since he was a softie and caved to his niece's puppy eyes. The girl all the way on the left of the couch, the 14 year old, leaned forward and turned her head so she could see all of her companions.
"I can't believe your aunt, Mary! She's a strict lady!" She threw up her hands and grinned, her green eyes twinkling with amusement.
Mary, on the other side of the couch, sighed and crossed her arms.
"No she isn't. Most people wouldn't like it if you started dancing to Acapella on their kitchen counter, Hailey."
Hailey unabashedly laughed as she replied, "I bet they wouldn't!"
Mary just shook her head, her light brown hair swishing with the movement of her head. She pleadingly looked to a second brunette, one of the 13 year olds, and asked, "Can't you talk any sense into her, Alyssa? Please? She listens to you!"
Alyssa laughed and held up her hands. "No way, Mary. She's too far gone now. There's no bringing her back!"
Mary groaned, and covered her face with her hands.
The only girl who hadn't spoken yet was sitting next to Hailey with her nose buried in a manga, a grin stretching across her brown face. Her green-tinted hair would have obstructed her view of her manga, had it not been pulled into neat twin buns on her head. Her chocolate brown eyes were glittering with amazement as she carefully turned a page.
While Hailey laughed, and Mary hid her face, Alyssa nudged the last girl with her elbow.
"What'cha reading now? More Fairy Tail?" She looked over her friend's shoulder and tried to see what she was so absorbed in.
The girl looked up at Alyssa.
"No. It's called Black Butler."
Alyssa chuckled. "I never get you and your bookish ways, Charlotte."
Charlotte slapped the back of her head lightly and kept reading. Alyssa rubbed the spot, grumbling.
"Sometimes, I wish some demon would claim you and take you back to the fire pits of hell." Charlotte muttered. "Just like Sebastian..."
Alyssa rolled her eyes and drew her sword from the sheathed she wore on her back.
"If you're going to be rude, I'm going to start practicing for my class tomorrow."
She swiped her sword through the air a couple times, before going into a complicated pattern of slashes and slices, eyes concentrated on the air in front of her. Her twin pigtails started to get sticky with the sweat pouring off of her head.
Hailey yawned, then flipped her scarlet red hair over her shoulder before checking her watch.
"I'm bored, guys. Can we just go home? I have to do some chores before 5:00 PM..."
She got up, everyone left on the couch following suit. Alyssa sheathed her sword and shrugged her thick coat on.
"Sounds good to me..."
