Chapter 2: The New Neighbor
Who was that? I wondered to myself. He must be my new neighbor. Well, him and his family. I took a closer look out my bedroom window and recognized this guy. He was about my age, and went to my school. Greyson. That was his name. I have seen him around school a lot, considering he's almost as popular as Hayden. He and Hayden know each other, they're just not best buds. Ugh, this'll be great.Greyson grabbed a few of his suitcases and headed into his new house. A few seconds later, he appeared in the window of the bedroom right out side of mine. Great, now he lives about eight feet away from me. He gave me a confused look- he was trying to figure out who I am.
I quickly backed away from the window and shut my curtains so that he couldn't see me. I sighed, Good, now I'm safe.
***The next day***
I woke up a little too late today. I got out of bed and went straight for my desk and sat down. I slammed the radio on, music instantly filling my ears. I let out a sigh as I relaxed to the sound of Kip Moore singing 'Hey Pretty Girl'. Man, I love that song. I stood up and opened my curtains, then opened my window, letting sunshine flood into the room. I always have my windows open, since they have no screen, so fresh air flows right in. Unfortunately, so do bugs. I drew in a deep breath and let it go with a wide smile. Today was going to be different, I could feel it. Or at least that's what I though before I heard a slight chuckle.
I snapped my eyes open only to see Greyson laughing at his desk in his room, which was placed partially in front of the window, and the other part of it was out of my sight, but I'm guessing it was against a wall. Whereas my desk was sideways, one end up against a wall next to my window. He couldn't see my desk from where he was; he could just see me in my swivel chair right in front of the window, where he was still giggling. He instantly stopped once he saw my annoyed exspresion. "Oh, uh, sorry. It's just that... well..." He struggled to say. I gave him an impatient look and he cleared his throat.
"Uh, yeah, it's just that... you listen to country music?," He was really getting on my nerves. "Uh, yeah somtimes, but why should you care?" I questioned him. Before he could answer me, I added,"Wait, you shouldn't care. In fact, why are you even talking to me?"
"I was just making conversation," He said defensivly, waveing his hands in surrender. "Is that what you call it? 'Cause, I don't remember putting 'makeing conversation with a popular' on my to-do list. So just don't talk to me, alright? Sounds good," I rolled my eyes after telling him that. Good one Avalon! I thought to myself. I am not looking forward to having him as a neighbor....
