Chapter 4
Nidju looked out across the horizon, laying beside the other cubs. She still couldn't walk properly, she must have hit her leg on a rock or something. Something stirred beside her, she whipped her head around to see Navui waking up, he looked at her and blinked. "Go back to sleep Navui." Nidju growled softly, "why don't you do the same? You need the rest." Navui meowed back, resting his head on his paws. "I'm fine!" Nidju snapped, growling. Navui soon went to sleep, and so did Nidju."Belaia!" Nidju called, seeing her friend standing at the edge of the river, Nidju dragged herself over to the white lioness, it was surprisingly easier to walk. She sat down beside her. "Are you okay?" She asked. Belaia sighed. "Everything I've ever lived for, my family, my happiness, my will to hunt, all of it, can be swept away by a stream." She looked at Nidju sadly, "I wonder if this is were I'm meant to be." Nidju gazed into Belaia's blue eyes, hurt blazing like fire. Nidju dipped her head sadly, knowing there was nothing she could do. She turned and ran to were a herd of zebras were grazing. She stopped and crouched low to the ground. She was nervous, what if she ended up like Belaia?! Or worse, Teyne!! Anyway, she had no other choice. Horosho, Rimu, and Navui soon caught on and started circling the zebras, Navui looked just as nervous as Nidju.
Nidju darted forward, scaring the Zebras to Horosho's direction, he leaped out and grabbed hold of a young zebra, crushing its windpipe. But the zebras changed direction, and headed towards..."RIMU!!!" Horosho called letting go of the Zebra, wich Navui finished off while he ran to the herd, Nidju knew it was no use, Rimu was trampled. She ran over anyway, and saw Rimu, lying on the cold hard ground, breathless. Dead.
