Heartbeat
My hands in his,Breath not quite steady,
Heavy.
His eyes, such beautiful shades of blue
Staring,
Staring,
Until my eyes dart down to his shoe.
Dare I take a peek?
Take the chance and have to meet
Those daring baby blues?
I raise my eyes to his.
I shy away for a moment, but no longer,
My gaze, I find, starts to wander.
His smile,
So big.
Surrounded by thin lips.
Lips I want to kiss.
I wish...
He raises my hand,
Presses it to those soft thin strips
Heart skips,
Beats like a drum.
Surprised by, not a kiss, but a promise of one to come.
Tick-tock
Funny how I took up the habit of counting down the clock.
