Writing
The ticking of the clock beside [Name] was really starting to get on her nerves as she sat by the open window, holding her pen above blank paper waiting for inspiration to strike. It was, however, proving itself tardy, since the pen was still full of ink and the paper as unblemished as the snow after a blizzard.
She leaned back with a groan, dropping her hands on her face in an act of mixed emotions, the most prominent being frustration.
"What's the matter with you?"
A voice questioned her from outside. Dragging her fingers down from their previous position, she looked over at the blue hedgehog sitting on the tree branch next to her house.
"Why are you here?"
"What, not even a 'Hello'?"
[Name] raised a brow at this, turning back to the project in front of her that was in desperate need of starting.
"I could very well ask you the same thing."
She pointed out, to which Sonic simply shrugged. Resting her elbow on the table and by extension her head in her palm, [Name] released a sigh.
"And to answer your question, writing. Writing is what's wrong."
Sonic tilted his head in curiosity. He moved closer, trying to steal a peek at what she was doing. Once he saw the lack of, well, anything, he frowned.
"You call that writing?"
He scoffed challengingly. Now it was [Name]'s turn to frown.
"No. I call that nothing."
She reached for her coffee, taking a sip while Sonic welcomed himself in through the window. Grabbing a folder and a few paper clips, she attached the loose sheets together and set them in the folder.
"C'mon. Writing is easy!"
Sonic commented, flipping through the pages of one of the books she had that was laying innocently on the table.
"You must have never written before then."
She said, standing up and stretching.
"Well.. no. But it can't be that hard!"
The young hedgehog admitted, throwing the book he held over his shoulder in favor of a different one. Luckily, [Name]'s reflexes were fast, as she caught the tome near effortlessly.
"Believe me; It is."
She made her way over to him, smacking him in the head with the very thing he discarded seconds ago. [Name] put the book back on the table while he rubbed the spot she just assaulted.
"There are so many things to consider, such as plot, characters, locations... And that's not even scratching the surface."
She sighed yet again, only this time, her tone was more on the side of weathered than frustrated.
"Then, you have to have the main characters go on some big adventure, which is something I wouldn't know even where or how to begin."
Sonic tapped his chin in thought, when he came to some mental conclusion, he grinned.
"Begin with you, duh."
"What..?"
She asked in befuddlement, placing the folder on a shelf. He chuckled.
"With you. As in, your own adventure!"
"My... own adventure? But I've never been anywhere to really write home about."
Sonic's former grin turned into a smirk as he all of a sudden lifted her up bridal style, though not without protest, and walked over to the open window.
"Well I don't know about you, but I think its about time you did!"
