Flames Burning, The Bloody Battle Book Six

Chapter Five

Mudpaw couldn't remember the last time he'd been here, maybe a moon. The blood sent filled his nostrils, the black dust was dreadfully familiar. The scraggly trees, and dark clouds were also to known. A shadowy figure hit him, claws raked his muzzle.
He blindly clawed at it's belly, and stumbled away. Then he saw who it was as a bit of moonlight shined on his pelt, Grayscar. Mudpaw swerved to the opposing side, and leap on to his opponent, clawing Grayscar's thick furred back. In a massive shack, Mudpaw was flung off, knocked in to a big boulder. His shoulder took most of the hit, a gash from the sharp boulder formed on Mudpaw's Shoulder.
Greyscar smiled a toothy grin at the gash, "Battle scars". Mudpaw looked up at his mentor, and sighed. "Get up!" Grayscar growled, "Tigerstar has called a meeting". Mudpaw nodded, and rushed out into the scraggly trees, halting at a big rock.
Many other cats were there, Dewfang, Burnpaw, Iceclaw, Clawstorm,  Flaringheart, and many others. "Mudpaw over here" Clawstorm called, tapping her tail on a open spot. Mudpaw nodded his  head in thanks, and sat down next to Clawstorm. A faded tiger like tom stepped onto the rock, "THE BATTLE IS COMING!". Cheers rose up in the crowd of cats, yells and shouts. "Are We ready?" the tom growled. "YES TIGERSTAR!" the cats yowled. "Good, good. Now who wants to tell us who they been targeting this whole time?" Tigerstar laughed, "how about you Iceclaw?". "Stonefeather and Nightwing" Iceclaw looked blood thirsty. "Great! A Cheer for Iceclaw!" Tigerstar  commanded. "ICECLAW, ICECLAW!" the crowd cheered.
"Hmmm, how about you Mudpaw?" Tigerstar turned to Mudpaw. Eyes burned into Mudpaw's fur, as he gulped. "Um, to uh get revenge on my, uh father" Mudpaw stammered, "he um betrayed our uh mother and us". Tigerstar nodded. "A cheer for this wimp!" Tigerstar grunted.
"Mudpaw" a few cats cheered. "MUDPAW!" cheered Clawstorm, with Flaringheart. Mudpaw looked at them sadly, smiling a short sad smile. "Now before I send all you off I need to alert you something" Tigerstar gaze traveled around the clearing, "we have a new member".
A tom who looked just like Tigerstar stepped out from the shadows, his amber eyes showing off evil.
"Hello I'm Tigerscar" he meowed.
