The Gem

The cubs were napping after their salmon breakfast, softly snoring and huddled against one another.
Their parents were closely watching them; in case a predator was around.
As for Frost, she wanted to take some time to explore the depths of the Ice Dimension.
She yawned, as her breath appeared in puffs, smiling, she continued to walk.
Her mind flooded itself with memories of her family, she stopped in her tracks and looked down.
"Why do I miss them?" She mumbled to herself.
"They kept me locked in that room for most of my life.
Not even Shard nor Calico did anything to stop them..."
She flattened her ears and whimpered, but got back in motion.
Frost wasn't paying attention to where she was going and tripped over something; similar to a rock.
Her face landed in a heaping pile of snow and laid there.
"Mmmph..." Frost groaned as she got up again, brushing the snow off herself.
She looked back at where she tripped, she saw something glowing and picked it up.
It was some sort of gem; it was navy blue, Frost's favorite color.
She immediately dropped it as its energy zapped her.
"Ow!" Frost yelped and rubbed her burned hand.
Frost's eyes widened as a flashback flooded into her mind: it was a few years ago and Winter was telling a story to Frost, Shard, and Calico.
She was talking about these beautiful and powerful gems called 'Chaos Emeralds'.
"If you collect all seven, a miracle is supposed to happen.
Winter said with a smile.
"Whoa..." Shard and Calico gasped in wonder and Frost giggled and clapped in joy.
Winter picked the three up and said, "Chaos Emeralds are not meant to be used for evil. There is another gem that controls the seven, and it is called the Master Emerald".
She showed them how each one looked like and the flashback ended.
Frost picked up the gem again. "A Chaos Emerald..." Frost muttered, feeling its power go through her, sighing, she looked up at the sky. She noticed it was getting late and put the emerald in her pocket and started walking back home.
