In the evening a tall, thin lady would be walking with something dragging behind her. Well, she was dragging behind a younger woman, whose silvery bangs covered her eyes. Neither of which spoke to each other. But there was a tense air between the two. The taller woman did cast a few disgruntled looks at the one who was being dragged, but she didn't care. The smaller woman had a few bruises on her face and sure she had a split lip with blood dripping down, but she kept a small smile on her face. "You know, this would have been easier if you had just taken the offer," The taller woman grumbled. The younger, smaller one chuckled and the taller one threw her into a wall. The smaller woman did want to get up but, exhaustion set over her like a blanket. She closed her eyes as the taller woman stepped on her hand and crouched over her. "Why do you resist, Samantha?" She asked her. "After all, it's just a job sweetie." "Just a job, hm? Then why don't you do it yourself, Karma?" Samantha would respond, opening her eyes and looking up at her. The woman that was Karma would smile thinly as she more pushed weight down on her hand, creating a soft pained gasp from that of the twenty-year-old. "I thought you'd understand on the fly cause you are so smart. I am getting old Sam. Two jobs are too much, even for me." "Liar!" Sam spat, narrowing her wide blue eyes. "It is because you're sick, sick of watching things go to shit. You are tired of being excluded Karma!" Karma's expression would remain, emotionless as Sam would talk. "'Cause you want your name to be remembered throughout history. I know you Karma, you care about your name more than anything. More than the well being of your own-" She'd wince as her fingers would be crushed. "Kids... That's why you are so obsessed with your recent project..." Karma would laugh and grin widely. "See Sammy!? You are absolutely perfect for the job!" She'd chuckle, releasing the pressure on Sam's now red and bruised hand. "It's not so bad to be the judge. If you choose so you can always interfere and-" "At what cost?" Sam would murmur, getting up and examining her hand. Karma would pause for a moment and sigh. "It's time," Sam's eyes would go wide. "I hereby succeed Samantha Lea Connors to the position of the Game's Master, or in our case the Royal Judge." That was when her fate was sealed shut. Sam fell to her knees as the bells chimed. Karma would chuckle. "Oh take it easy, you won't do terribly." Sam looked up at her and instantly a calm fell over her. "You say this now. But in due time Karma, you will be forgotten." Sam would turn and walk out of the room, wiping the blood from her mouth on her sweater sleeve. She'd go home and find Lilliana, worried sick. But she wouldn't say anything about the scientist or her newest job. She'd exist to one day find everyone she ever cared about dead.
