How?

How?
A few minutes later he shoved past me and out of my room. I collapsed on the floor and cried. I cried for everything I lost. My mom, my finace, Cael, and my freedom. I didn't know who I was anymore and that scared me. I stood dried my eyes and dresses in one of the gowns in the dresser. It was a light brown and I brushed out the curls putting them in a bun. I left the room and every servant bowed to me as I passed. So I walked faster until I reached the throne room.  Guards opened the doors and I was announced. I curtsied quickly and the king motioned for me to sit in the throne beside him. I was done as I was told but I leaned over and whispered, "We need to talk Father." He nodded and the council continued to drone on but I tuned most of them out. When the council was adjourned the King took me to the privy chambers behind the thrones.
"What is it Alexandria," he asked kindly but I cringed as he said my full name.
"Where is Cael," I returned in a heated tone. He looked shocked at how furious my voice was.
"Why he is in the gardens my Daughter." He replied while I breathed a sigh of relief. I turned to leave but he grabbed my arm but I yanked it free and fled the room.
I ran through the corridors till I reached the gardens and was overwhelmed by the scene. A gazebo stood on it's own surrounded by roses all in bloom. They were in every color and size. The sweet smell filled the air but at this point it was choking me. I used to love the smell but now it only brought me pain. I searched the rows until I reached the backed and instead of roses there was lilies everywhere. They were withered but still living and in the back but instead of a horrible smell it was subtle and gentle. He was standing there picking a lily that was pale orange.
"Cael," I yelled but instead when he turned it was my father.
"There is a private staircase leading from the privy chambers to the garden's." He said sarcastically but searched my face for clues of my feelings. "You going to tell me what is going on with you and my Captain."
"He and I are.." I started but he held up his hand to stop me.
"I already know, but what happened last night?" he asked.
"I don't know! He was opening up to me fully but closed off again. I don't know if I said something and I just," I stuttered but he pulled me to his chest and held me there.
