Chapter Five
Stonefeather looked up at the half moon, tonight the group would be meeting at the Moonstone. After thinking on it, Stonefeather decided to surprise the group. As they woke up, he would be there, looking sternly at them all. Stonefeather sighed it wasn't the best plan ever, but what else could he do, be shy? No! He curled up, pretending to sleep, and soon felt Nightwing's warm pelt leave his. After Frost Clan had mostly left, he hopped up and hiddenly followed them. He hid behind bushes, trees, and in shadows. Here and there other cats slipped into the group.
When all of sudden, a few feet away from the Moonstone, they stopped. "Anybody seen Forest Clan?" a cat called out through the crowd. "No" the crowd called back. "Weird, but we need Flamingwhisper to continue, right?" the same cat asked. "Yeah, I guess" unsure mummers raced through the group. With an unexpected movement, Stonefeather leap out of the bush.
Cats turned to him, gasping. "Aye, it's Stonefeather" Black-eyes meowed through the crowd. "Stonefeather?" more cats stared, meows of surprise burst from the group. "Stonefeather?" a familiar voice meowed, Nightwing.
"What are you doing here?" Nightwing padded up to him, every cat grew silent. "Well?" she meowed. "I... well you see..." Stonefeather stammered. Before he knew what he was doing, a lie slipped through Stonefeather's mouth, "I was sent by Flamingwhisper". "He Was?" the cats echoed, "listen to him". "Um, we are to do our normal thing" Stonefeather lied, "off we go".
As Stonefeather found his spot in the star, he felt a surge of excitement. What would happen?! He soon fell fast asleep.
"Stonefeather" voices echoed. Stonefeather looked around at the dark cave he was in, aware of the echoes. "Be ready for the Tiger, for the Tiger is ready for you" they echoed,"Stone and Tiger will clash in a battle". Stonefeather shrieked as a blood wave crashed over him, choking as it filled his lungs. 'Please Star Clan no' Stonefeather prayed as he was drowned by the blood.
