These are not fairy tales. Ok, I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides the other night again and got inspired by the deadly mermaids. I loved how they made them more like the original dark creepy monsters that lured sailors to their doom instead of falling in love and singing while brushing hair (actually there was a mermaid who fell in love with Philip....and there was a fair bit of singing....never mind)

As the first siren finished her song and began to sink back into the waves, Scrum leaned forward over the side and followed her into the water. His eyes locked on her radiant face and he had no other thought than to join her, his thoughts lost in a haze of bliss.
Her face changed.
