Finding a Job
November 19th, 2016It was 8:00 AM in the morning and boy that was a mistake, I've forgotten that I had a job interview for a cashier at a near bye grocery store and I'm late for it. "Oh no, I can't lose this interview" I scurried out of bed and quickly took a shower, brushed my hair, teeth, and finally got dressed. My name is Luna Henderson, I'm 23 I live in a two story house with purple painted walls as well as a gardn among the front and I'm late for a job interview which I believe I may get but at this rate I don't think so. I eventually just decide call the manager of the establishment and told them id be late "Um...hi sorry to say but I overslept so I'm gonna be a bit late but you can still fill me in right?" I asked nervously. The manager's voice was husky when responding "No I'm sorry but you should have been here by 6:30 AM we've already given the job to someone already" he annouced rudely. "Oh okay are there other opening I can fill out for?" I asked hopefully "No" the man replied and before I could respond he already hung up on me.
"Ugh, why can't I find one simple job that isn't so hard to get" I huffed blowing my brunette hair out of my face laying back on my bed when my computer went off. Someone was messaging me. I grab my laptop and turn on the video chat "Hey Luna!" It was my good friend Shenzi Martinez, we've been good friends for like since kindergarten but since she became a traveler i don't see her often. "Hey Shenzi, nice seeing you" I responded Shenzi gave me a concerned look "Luna, are you okay? You don't seem to happy" she said adjusting her ponytail " I'm fine Shenzi, but I did lose the chance of getting a job again. Shenzi laughed "Okay how did you screw it up this time?" I glared at her "I overslept when I was suppose to be there by 6:30 AM" Shenzi snorted "This is like the fifth time you screwed up an interview but oversleeping is not as bad as the time you tried to get a job at a coffee shop and-" I cut her off before she could finish "Don't ever mention that ever, that's a day I'd rather not look back too" I said moving my hand back and forth telling her enough. "Alright, sorry but it's just too funny" Shenzi snickered. I rolled my eyes waiting for Shenzi to calm her but down "Well what are you gonna do for a job now there has to be some job out there for you" I sighed "I don't know, I'll take a look through the newspaper there are probably some jobs I could get" As I looked through the newspaper I found an open job ad for a night shift as a security guard I thought for a moment when Shenzi interrupted me: " Uh hello, Luna did you forget I'm still here" I turned back to my computer to face her "Oh sorry I was just looking at this ad for security guard for hire, it's a night shift bit it'll probably make good money what do you think?" I asked showing Shenzi the ad. She took a long look at it "Hm, may be you should go ahead and fill in for it but this time don't mess it up like back at the coffee shop" Shenzi laughed again "Shenzi I said don't bring that up, we both know that's nothing we need to talk about" I growled glaring at her.
After me and Shenzi ended our chat I went to call the number for the security guard job. Finally, after a few tries someone answered the phone a man probably "Hello, can I help you?" He asked his voice deep reslonding I said calmly "Uh hi, yes I'm calling to let you know I'm interested in taking the job as security guard at "Ellie's Diner and Arcade" and I'll like to apply for it."
