The Detonation
As we were about to enter the facility once more, this time permanently, when we heard and felt deep rumbling. If you could imagine it, the whole earth felt as if it were moving. What now? I thought to myself, as it couldn't get much worse than half the crew dying. Or so I thought. I was about a mile away, preparing SCP-066's movement. The whole mountain shook, turned a deep red, then exploded. After the dust settled, I finally realized what had happened all along. A D-Boy or a missing SCP had set off the nuclear missile after releasing the SCPs. My life had then just turned upside-down, for the facility was my responsibility, as lead scientist. I soon had to call for desparate measures. Do you even realize how big a deal this was? My life's work, all of it, my predecessor's the whole lot, including SCP-173, had been obliterated. Turned into subatomic particles. We had no time traveling device. We had no backup plan. I was sure to be demoted to Class-D, so I did what any sane person would do in my shoes. I grabbed a gun, grabbed a vest, and ran.
What should I do? Please tell me this time! I need your help. You are my only hope.
