Chapter 2: Phoenix

I sighed as I saw everyone running around acting like children. I get that we are but we need to be prepared. Start a fire, find food, something productive. Getting tired of waiting I stepped up "Okay everyone listen up for a second."

At that moment everyone stopped and looked at me "Okay thanks. Look. I get that this is exciting but we need to go out and look for one of the shelters that the Ark told us about. We need those supplies. So I'm going to head out. Does anyone want to come with me"

Everyone was silent for a while until Samantha sighed "I've got nothing better to do. I'm in"

After hearing her speak up Yamilette said "Yeah I'll go to. Gotta keep Samantha out of trouble."

I smiled "Anyone else?"

Then Seg and Hyper stepped up "We will... Ha Jinx. JINX! JINX!!!"

"Enough!" i yelled "Come on let's get going."

We all left the drop ship together and while Yamilette, Samantha, and I were at the front keeping an eye out Hyper and Seg were goofing off behind us. "Can you to knock it off?" Samantha said annoyed

Seg laughed "Oh come on. Am I to wild for you princess?"

Samantha growled and started walking faster. I sighed "Seriously you two if you don't-" I turned around to talk to them but then I realized that they were gone. "What the hell?!" Then we heard rustling from a bush and a strange man jumped from the bush with a sword "WE NEED TO RUN!" I yelled and ran back to the dropship.

When we got back everyone looked at us with worried expressions. I looked around and saw we weren't being chased until I heard "Wait... Samantha is missing too"

Murmurs arose from everyone in camp then Abby yelled "SHUT UP!!! Listen I don't know what happened out there but if three of us went missing and you guys were only gone for like two minutes how will we survive here?"

This got everyone talking again until Birds chimed in "Okay everyone listen up. I may have convinced the guards to give us some guns but I only have three. Three of us are gonna go out and try to find them."

I was the first to walk to birds and take the gun, because I felt responsible for what happened. Then Yamilette took the other. I looked at her confused and she said "I never should have taken my eyes off her. Besides. This is both our faults right?"

I chuckled then Yamilette, Birds and I walked out of camp
