The Meeting
This night, Sara had repeated her nightmare on the bird and took a trip to the darkened fields. But instead, there was a booming voice: “I have finally found both of the warriors, the throne is mine!”. Then, Sara saw a gray mist coming towards her, slowly solidifying into a thin white figure in black robes holding a wickedly sharp scythe. Sara ducked to avoid it but she saw a flash of dark red. Sara was sitting in bed, sunlight poured into the cabin. Suddenly, she was trapped in a trance again; this time a much younger voice spoke to her in her mind. “So you are the other heir, come find me in the clearing in the middle of the forest.” it said. “Let the butterfly guide you”. Sara was very surprised that her sister had contacted her. She asked for permission to go on a walk in the woods. As she walked on the path, she saw a glowing butterfly. The butterfly flew in front of Sara but never went far from her. She followed it and suddenly found herself in the middle of a clearing, staring at a black haired girl with blue green eyes sparkling like the waves in the arctic sea. She was blowing a conch shell with four holes in it and when she blew, a beautiful tune came out of the other end. Sara suddenly could hear ocean waves and see the calming surface of the sea. Then, it stopped; the girl was staring at her curiously as if Sara was a machine that didn’t work the way it was supposed to. “Umm--awkward…” thought Sara. “Well?” she said impatiently “who are you?”. “You called me, remember?” said Sara; the girl looked confused, “when did I-- oh, right.” she said when she noticed Sara’s necklace. Suddenly there was a rustling in the shrubbery, a jaguar jumped out of the bushes; Sara nearly screamed but stopped herself when the sleek cat bowed to her. Sara could hear its voice inside her head, “Mistress, Death has been spotted around your camp, in the form of a snake, bear and vulture. And it has been spotted in the form of a shark around your… sister’s underwater palace.” “Mistress?” Sara asked in disbelief. “You control all the cats in the world,” explained the girl. “Oh, I didn’t catch your name,” said Sara. “My name is Nicole.” she said. “Why did you say ‘sister’ in such an irritated way?” Sara asked the messenger, “Fire and water do not mix, do they, mistress?” said the jaguar as it disappeared into the forest. It was only when Sara looked at her sister when she realized she was frowning. “What’s wrong?” asked Nicole, “Nothing,” Sara lied “I have to get back to camp now, they will be worried.”. “Meet me here tomorrow, same time, same place.”.
