How To Write a Good Story: A Guide To Being a Great Author By: @maddiemayMost authors come to a point where they begin to wonder, "Is my story good enough?". Well, there are three easy steps to writing an amazing story. The first step is, and this is going to sound a bit cheesy, you need to believe in yourself. If you have no belief that you can write a good story, you probably won't. If you believe that you can write a good story and that people will enjoy it, you will write your best. And that just happens to be the next step! The second step is to write to the best of your abilities. Write about what you know and make it interesting. Writing a good book/story isn't always about being an experienced writer, but more of if other people enjoy reading what you're writing. If other people like to read it, chances are it's pretty good. Just do the best you can, and all your hard work will eventually pay off. What audience is the story meant to entertain? Write your story based on what the audience would find funny, interesting, or just pleasant to read. If it's made for younger kids, fantasy stories would be ideal, but keep in mind that different people have different taste in books. I would suggest writing genres for people close to your own age so that you will have a good idea on what would be considered "Interesting". Remember, a good author appreciates constructive criticism and learns from their mistakes. The third and final step is to have fun with it! This is definitely the most important step because If something is painfully boring to write, why would anyone enjoy reading it? If you have fun writing something, it's almost certain that someone will have fun reading it. If you follow those steps, your book can and will be great. Just remember to believe that you can write a good story, use your full potential while writing, and most importantly have fun.
