Time Cannot Erase

Forgotten

Cana's mother called from the other room. The youthful hen scrambled to where her mom was standing, majestic and tall as always. Cana was proud to be the daughter of Valeria's queen, yet she stayed humble. She knew it was not a wise thing to brag about one's authority.

Cana looked into her mother's glowing emeralds and said "Where is my sister?" A look of confusion melted onto the queen's face. "What sister?"Cana gasped. How could this happen? She had always had a sister. Eclipse. How could anyone forget the sleek, glossy feathers and warm amber eyes of Eclipse? Queen Mysticaria spoke flatly. "My time of rule draws near. Remember Red?" Cana nodded. Red was the hero of current time. Or at least that's what Cana thought. The queen spoke again. "Unfortunately, Red was killed in a battle with an opossum. I can protect the kingdom with my magic for a while, but when my magic fades, it will he over."

Cana was still dumbfounded that Eclipse had been forgotten. She knew that she had a sister. Cana sprinted to her bedroom and frantically began fumbling through a box of pictures. No Eclipse. Wait. She felt the cool golden frame. Cana picked the picture frame up and looked at it. There it was. A picture of Cana and Eclipse. A long crack had spread across the glass covering the image of Eclipse. Cana sighed and flopped onto the bed. She began to sob softly at the thought of Eclipse. It was true.....Eclipse had been forgotten...
