Strange Sounds
June 17th, 2020 (same day)4 hours it has taken to drive from my home in Eureka Springs all the way to some creek near the woods of an old building now abandoned right across from us in the fencing area located I believe it was in Bentonville, Arkansas. My dad steadily parks the car near the side of the woods and hops out taking a deep breathe "Ah, smell that fresh nature scent" he smiles taking in the surroundings I rolled my eyes and dragged my suitcase from the car with the help from my mom while dad set up the tent, it only took him 20 minutes to get it standing for once last time it came toppling down on us on our last camping trip. Soon after we dragged our sleeping bags inside and my dad decided to start dinner early "Well now that the tent is up let's start up dinner anyone up for some noodles?" He asked taking out a can of chicken noodle soup I just shook my head but decided not to argue "Sure hon that sounds good" I hear my mom say while my dad cheerfully grabs a pot and looks over at me "Amber may you get us some fire wood so I may make our supper" I sigh "Alright, I'll go get the wood as I always do" I mumble my last words walking off into the thick brambles to gather for wood.
As I start picking up good sized pieces I hear odd moaning sounds coming from over to my right I look over to notice some abandoned buildings one that seems to be a barn, a brick made archway probably for a basement, and a large two-story house that seems to be 6ft tall and 10 meters wide I guess I really don't know but it's pretty huge. I walk over a bit but stop at once when I notice frightening claw marks engraved across this tree trunk near this torn up fence area with a bloody word written across the tree right underneath the claw marks saying "beware" my mind goes blank with fear for a moment when a terrifying shriek broke out from the barn I fall back dropping the wood hesitantly picking up the ones I can get and running as fast as I can away from that place, my heart bouncing off the walls. Finally making it back to the camp area I drop the sticks in the fireplace and sit down in one of the chairs exhausted; my mom and dad look at me funny "Are you okay a Amber? You seem spooked" my mom sounded concerned but I quickly hide my terrified face and look at her "I'm fine mom. Trust me, I'm fine." I lied looking back down at the woods that shrieking sound still echoing in my mind.
