Chapter 11
3rd Person P.O.V.Ruby Rose flew through the air, running into a lone bird.
“Birdy, no!” she screamed. She fired off a few rounds from Crescent Rose to slow her down, then turned her weapon into a scythe to catch the branch of a tree and fall down at a slower place.
Weiss Schnee, armed with her dust-powered sword,Myrtenaster, formed a white snowflake circle under her and leaped off of it into the forest below.
Lie Ren and Nora Valkyrie descended, Ren spinning in the air, using StormFlower’s blade to spin around a tree, landing safely on the ground and brushing himself off. He looked up to see Yang, soaring over the treetops, using her gauntlets to push herself through the air, further and further north. She spun and laughed with each blast. She crashed through the leaves of a tree, jumped off of two tree trunks, and tumbled to the ground.
“Nailed it,” she said to herself.
Pyrrha Nikos, her weapon in sword form and armed with a shield, crashed through several trees and rolled on a branch, immediately shifting her blade into a rifle and looking through the scope at Jaune as he continued to scream and fall helplessly. Pyrrha transformed her weapon again to its spear form, took a moment to evaluate her throw, and threw the javelin deep into the forest until a loud ‘Thunk!’ is heard.
“Thank you!” Jaune Arc yelled in the distance. Pyrrha waved.
“I’m sorry!”
Steel Blue flew over the trees before changing to the form of a crow. She dived down, flew between the trees, and did a front flip behind a tree, changing back into her human - er, faunus - form. She landed firmly on the ground, dropping to a crouch and arming her cuffs, Tooth and Claw. She looked around, her grey wolf ears perked up as she listened for a sign of something else living in her vicinity. She heard a branch snap behind her and spun around. Nothing but shrubbery. She turned into a wolf and crawled through the bushes, staying out of sight.
???’s P.O.V.
I spun around and narrowly missed being pounced on my an Ursa. I grabbed LightScope from its place at my hip and it turned into its dual pistol form before firing off a few rounds. The Ursa swiped at me, making me roll to the ground, landing in a kneeled position. I looked up to see the Ursa about to pounce on me. I ducked my head, awaiting the blow, only to feel a slight weight on my back for a second. It vanished as soon as it came.
I looked up again to see a grey wolf jumped at the Ursa, digging its sharp fangs into its shoulder. The Ursa threw the wolf off, and, as it fell in a flash of purple, it transformed into a girl with orange hair, a grey tail, and grey wolf ears. She armed the cuffs on her wrist and shot at the Ursa before producing to long, sharp daggers from the cuffs and slicing at it. It fell to the ground, dead. She let out a heavy sigh and turned to face me.
“Are you okay?” she asked. I nodded as she reached out her hand and pulled me off the ground.
“Thanks,” I said. She shrugged. “I’m Cameron Tyler.”
Steel’s P.O.V.
“I’m Cameron Tyler.” I held back a sigh. I didn’t want a team to begin with, but knowing I was going to spend however long I spent on this mission with a girl who couldn’t even stand her own in a fight with an Ursa made me even less enthusiastic; however, I forced a smile.
“I’m Aria,” I said. “Aria Layn.” She smiled at me.
“Your eyes,” she said. “They’re . . .”
“Two different colors, I know.” I sighed. “My mom has bright blue eyes.” I pointed to my left eye. “I had the exact same eyes as her and my siblings until I was three. Then, my other eye changed to red, which I can only guess means my dad has red eyes.” She tilted her head in confusion.
“You guess?” I nodded.
“I’ve never met him.” I shook my head. “It doesn’t matter. We need to find these relics, whatever they are, and get back. I don’t want to spend any more time out here than I have to.”
“Well, someone’s happy today,” I heard her mumble. I spun around to face her, pulling out one of my knives.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” I snapped. “I’m not exactly a-” I made air quotations. “- ‘people person.’” She backed away a little bit.
“Sorry,” she said. “It’s just, all my friends have been super cheery.” She sighed. “Like me.” My expression softened.
“I’m sorry too,” I said, almost sincerely. “I’m the opposite. All my friends have been super serious and dedicated, like me.” I chuckled under my breath. “Most of the time, at least.” Cameron smirked.
“Well, maybe we can balance each other out.” My smile faltered as I thought of Adam.
I do not own RWBY. I only own my characters.
