Prologue

I saw it with my own eyes; that demon, the demon that killed my friends, devoured my soldiers and ate my family. That demon that I can never let go unpunished. That demon was right in front of me; gazing upon his next meal. I stood ready, my sword in one hand and my shield in the other. A tear fell down my face as I remembered all the people this demon devoured; I remembered why I was risking my life trying to kill this demon and what the purpose of me still existing was. I was willing to die trying to kill this demon, whatever the consequence; at least I’ll be able to say that I contributed my life and dedication. That’s all the spirits of my friends, soldiers and family ever asked for, it’s the least I can do for them, I won’t let their death’s be in vain. I looked up at the horrible creature and shouted at it. “For Albion!” I shouted and jumped at him. I slashed at his chest but my blade broke, and for the first time I faced reality… I was afraid; afraid to die. I was ashamed by the way I was thinking, I wasn’t worthy of fighting for my friends, soldiers and family, not with that attitude. I fell to the ground and landed on my back. The demon grunted at me and raised its hand to slash at me. I knew that I had let everyone down. I closed my eyes and accepted my fate… Death. All of a sudden a guy came in front of me and covered me in his wings. He looked human… Though his wings made him look like some sort of angel. “Don’t worry, I’ll protect you.” The guy said and everything went white.
