A Fallen Knight's Legacy
Cana glanced up, wiping tears from her eyes. "R-Really?", she asked, her voice nearly a whisper. Sonata nodded to mask his uncertainty."Thank you." Cana said, lips curving into a smile. She then wandered over to a sliding door, which Sonata had not even noticed until just now. She opened the door, and removed something that caught Sonata's eye.
"I think this will be efficient.", the princess smiled as she offered it to Sonata.
The boy grinned as the sword was placed in his hands. Sonata's fingers curled around the handle of the sword. It was such an alien, yet incredibly familiar feeling. Almost as if he'd held this very sword at some point in time.
"Thank you, Cana.", The boy said politely.
The princess was quite pleased that he liked it.
"This weapon is unlike others. It's a gift of the Green Eyed Goddess-- Valeria, Queen of Spirit. See, Most blades would wear over time; But this one won't. In fact, it was the very blade that the fallen knight wielded."
Sonata nodded.
"I think I understand.", he said monotonously.
Without further hesitation, the man turned around and left in silence.
