Chapter 2 (Now both the main characters are 20)

Nightmare smiled at Kisame as he bothered Itachi again. "Hey, Itachi, are we there yet? Huh? Are we?" Itachi stopped and turned on his heel. He glared at Kisame, anger clear on his face, and was about to say something when Nightmare gasped. Kisame turned to her, confused and concerned. "Hey, what's up? You okay?" She looked at a tree a few feet away from Itachi and didn't answer. Itachi's eyebrows furrowed and he turned towards the tree. Not seeing anything, he turned towards me and waved his hand in her face. "Nightmare." He said.
Nightmare jumped, then looked at Kisame. "Huh? Oh, I'm fine. Just, uh, have to go... do something... I'll be back!" Then she turned and ran, her cloak billowing behind her. Kisame frowned at her back. "Hey, Itachi, do you think we should go after her? Ya know, see what she's doin'?" Itachi considered it for a few seconds, then nodded. "Yeah, let's go." Kisame and Itachi quietly and quickly followed Nightmare.
Nightmare ran to a clearing, then stopped and caught her breath. 'I really hope that Itachi didn't see the signal,' Nightmare thought. Alice had left signals for Nightmare, telling her where she was so that they could talk, although Nightmare typically saw them after Alice had already moved on. but this time, it looked freshly made, so Nightmare ran towards the first clearing she saw.
Alice smiled slightly. So Nightmare had seen th signal. Then she froze. Nightmare's teammates had followed her, and Alice knew one of them.
Alice took a deep breath, smoothed her hair down, and walked into the clearing. Nightmare saw her and gave her a bear hug. "I missed you!" She squealed. Alice stiffened, then slowly relaxed and patted Nightmare's back gently. Nightmare stood back and said, "So, Alice, have you been good?" Alice snorted and shook her head. Nightmare smiled wider and nodded. "Good. It's no fun if you're good and nice." Alice looked at Nightmare again. She had changed since their last talk. She was taller (slightly) and her hair was far longer. Alice smiled and nodded, absentmindedly shifting her sythe, which was on her back.
Itachi, who was sitting on a tree branch not too far away, heard what Nightmare said and his breath caught. 'Is that the Alice that I knew growing up?' he asked himself. Kisame simply wondered how Nightmare knew this girl. They listened to Nightmare's one-sided conversation for a few more seconds, then Itachi jumped down and landed behind Nightmare. "Alice? Is that you?" Nightmare heard his wuiet voice and spun on her heel, her face full of surprise.
Alice simply smiled slightly and nodded. Itachi's eyes widened even more and he stepped forward. Nightmare was about to stop him when Kisame grabbed her around the waist. "Leave them alone, Nighty," he whispered to her, "They were friends for a long time before he became a member of the Akatsuki." Nightmare felt butterflies in her stomach when Kisame touched her, but she ignored them and just nodded at what he said.
Itachi walked up to her and looked her up and down. "You look... great, Alice." He said, taking a few beats to think of the right word to describe her. She smiled and looked down shyly, then said the first thing that Nightmare had ever heard. "Thank you, Itachi. You look good, too." Itachi bit his tounge and tried not to smile. "So, how did you and Nightmare meet?" Alice frowned and glanced at Nightmare, who rolled her eyes and nodded. Then Alice sighed. It was going to be a long explanation.
