Akina

Akina

Akina is my American Akita, we found her when my brother and I were walking down the promenade, when we heard puppy cries, we didn't know where it was coming from, I was curious but not my brother, I found a passage way between two shops where the yelps seemed to be coming from. Then we found her, an American Akita, she would not move from her spot against the corner of the wall, but I picked her up and she seemed slightly more relaxed, she pawed my chest, "Hey Alexa, are we getting the sweets or what?" I ran home, sweets didn't matter now, only this little puppy...

Vaccination

Vaccination "Hehe! Look Alexa! Akina's dancing! Mama! Come and see it!" Eliza said, trying to copy her. We all stood horrified, staring at Akina's "so called" dance! "Akina! Come on girl!"  I laughed nervously, "Come with me!" I lifted my sweet munchkin up and took her into my room. I locked it so Eliza couldn't get in and copy any more embarrassing things Akina would do.
"So you've got the worms my little queen?" I doted, running my hands through her rough fluffy fur, "That's proof that you weren't lost accidently. Who would do such a thing to a-" I stopped when I heard someone fiddling about with the knob of my door, "Eliza? Is that you? Open the door honey." it was Jules, I sighed, "Hey Jules, it's me," I admitted, as turned the lock. She smiled at me. She glanced at my little puppy, "How did you find her again?" she asked, "Abandoned," I sighed, "and can you believe my brother wanted to go get sweets instead of adopting her?" I shook my head. Jules looked at me and and placed her hand on my shoulder, "Yeah sweetie. It was lovely of you to do that, but-" she stopped, "But what?" I asked, straining my eyes at her own interruption, "You know, there might have been a reason, maybe abandoning the dog wasn't the best solution but, you know what I'm saying? Maybe someone had Akina and didn't expect to have such a hassle. The point I'm getting at is-" "She would be better off dead than having a proper, loving owner, a warm cosy house to live in?" she didn't dare to interrupt me for some reason, "No," she said sternly, exaggerating the o and raising her eye brows, "I'm actually suggesting that you get her vaccinated, the people who had her before obviously didn't get that done, did they? After her dance!" we laughed a little, and I felt like apologizing, but when I took the breath to say it, "Alexa, there's no need," she insisted, "I know you have a strong love for dogs. Everyone does, that's one of the reasons why you inspire Eliza! Now I think your mom is going to set an appointment at the vet." she gave me a smirk, "Thanks," I said, smiling at her, "Now, I understand I interrupted your conversation with her highness," she looked back as the door closed behind her. She's the best auntie...
"Okay Alexa, will you please hold on to Akina for me pet?" asked Dr. Carolina, squeezing the syringe, "Yep, sure, just stroke her or something, yeah?" she nodded, trying not to lose her concentration, "Akina, relax and-" once the syringe was in, my helpless little puppy yelped. It was so cute. I know it sounds kinda mean, but she was like, "Aroo-woo-woo-woo!!!.... Ar-ar-ar-aroo-" then she'd just cry a little.
"It's alright girl," I said softly, scratching behind her ear, her one and only comfort spot. She snuggled up to my chest, rubbing her nose against my neck. "She did great," said Dr. Carolina, "she's in great health too, you're doing good with her." she smiled and passed us a Dentastix Deluxe Pack,"This is for being a brave puppy!" she looked at me,"It also helps with the teeth!" she whispered. We thanked her and arranged the next appointment, as Dr. Carolina told us she should get it often.
"There Akina, wasn't so hard, was it?" she shivered and looked up at me, as if to say, "Don't push it, bud." and I didn't, I let her sleep and when we got home, me and Eliza made a special den for Akina. It was a chest of drawers, with all of the drawers taken out, then we shoved a pillow inside, to make it comfy! Then I let Eliza paint the empty chest, while I focused more on blankets and the shape of the chest. I decided I'd make an entrance at the front of the box, which would be twice Akina's size, you know, just in case she grew over night. Then Jules had made a little patterned quilt cover a few weeks ago, and said she'd be glad to give it to Akina. So I had that sorted, and James, Jules' husband, said he would have the entrance done in 20 minutes. I felt like an interior designer, and I love pampering my little queen, I adore her! Well, she passed the vaccination, and- oh! James said he has finished, great! I'll be back in moment.

Yep, she's in there now, snoring softly, dreaming of breakfast tomorrow... I love her so much, she's my angel xxx
