Chapter 3: Saving Amethyst
Steven couldn't watch, and he wouldn't have to. He jumped out the window, and ran quickly over, summoning his shield. But Malachite kept pushing harder, and the shield evaporated to nothing. Steven looked up, and Malachite was about to squish him, but then he realized the reason he was there. He pushed Amethyst out of the way, and Steven was crushed."STEVEN!" Pearl and Garnet ran over, crying out to Steven. Steven lay in that spot, barely able to breathe. Amethyst felt a tear run down her cheek. You saved me." Amethyst said, very sad that she did nothing.
"I'm… fine" Steven said, getting up and gasping for air.
"Steven, don't ever do that again, please." Garnet said, hugging him tightly.
"Yeah, I've definitely learned my lesson." Steven said.
Steven noticed Amethyst sitting by a rock, crying.
"What's wrong?" Steven asked.
"Don't look at me, i really am a bad Gem. i nearly killed you!" Amethyst cried.
"Amethyst it's not your fault. Your not a bad Gem. If you were…. If you were, you wouldn't be here with me." Steven hugged Amethyst, but she didn't return one.
"Steven, Gems from the KinderGarden were meant to be slaves. We were meant to do Gems like Peridot's doing. Before the others met me, i was terrible. i destroyed everything, i hated everyone. I always wanted to be normal like the other Gems, but no… and it's all those Gems who started the KinderGarden's fault! I care a lot about you, but when you saved me, it showed i am a bad Gem." Amethyst exclaimed.
"Amethyst," Steven said, still very weak. "I care about you too. that's why i had to save you."
Amethyst looked up.
"I'll always care for you." Steven finished, but surely it wasn't Steven who said that, it was Rose.
Amethyst cried even more.
