Chapter 2

Just a few hours later, I was boarding the plane. Ann greeted me with a smile.

"Nelly! Ready to go to Paris?" she asked.
"Ready as ever." I replied.
"Fabulous. Any Block updates?"
"Well I know where their lair is."
"Great! I'm going to drop you off at our agency in France and then you'll go to the lair with Sophie?"
"Yep, that sounds good."
"Great."

As I took a seat, I found some files in the cabinet in our jet.. and something caught my eye. 'Block history' I read. I took the file to Ann.
"Hey Ann, what's this file?"
"Oh Nelly, just some Block history. You can take a look."
"OK, thanks."

I read:

Name: Andy Karpov

Code name: The Block

Date of birth: 16 September 1979

Place of birth: Kieve, Ukraine

Description: Karpov is a former soldier who was part of the ultra-secert Sviet Special Operations Unit ( SSOU).

Since the break-up of the Soviet Union, he has sold his services to various organisations. His physical appearance and military training mean that he is often employed as an enforcer, although his intelligence abilites should not be underestimated. A keen chess player, Karpov is a shrewd thinker who has outwitted many agents. Karpov has little care for politics or ideas - money determines who he works for

I couldn't see any more, but Andy is the main Block guy.

"We have arrived, Nelly!" Ann called out. "Welcome in France!"
"Great, Ann! I'm coming! Is it OK if I take this Block History file?"
"Yeah, it's good."

As I got off the jet, I could see our agency in France. At the door was Sophie, waiting for me. I walked over to the entrance.

"Sophie! Come see what I found!" I gave her the file.
"Block History?" Sophie read the information. "Cool. This might come in handy, Nelly. So, are we going to Block's lair now? We'll get there and see if anyone's there. I think that Block is currently at their Blow-up machine.. seems like it. Luckily we can escape if they come."
"Perfect. Let's go."
