Eternity Zero

Eternity Zero

Here's a story Wrote for an English project. The paragraphing and indents are kind of inconsistent, with the copy and pasting on Qfeast, and it wasn't originally in chapters, so they're kind of short. But my teacher liked it, sooo...enjoy!

Chapter 10

“Where are we going?” said Kai. This time he WAS invisible to humans. ‘The power of the Fae,’ Iobar had called it. People could look right at him, and see nothing but what was behind him.
“No idea,” replied the wizard, “Anywhere that doesn’t have Trolls.”
“Great,” complained Killian, “I’m stuck with three invisible idiots, and being hunted by Trolls.”
“I am an outstanding member of the Guild of Ancients.”
“For an outstanding member of the Guild of ancients, I sure know nothing about you.”
“The Guild of Ancients is an organisation dedicated to you, so don’t get cheeky.”
“Let me guess, they sent you.”
“As always,” Eaden rolled his eyes, “You’re deductive powers astound me.”
Aeden gave his, now, characteristic gulp. “So, where are we going again?”
“Well, right now” said the Mage, “We are heading down a street with an insane amount of Sprites. look around.”
Now that he mentioned it, Kai could see little eyes darting in and out in between the buildings. They were in the middle of a bustling market, trying to get lost in the crowd. The eyes were green, and seemed to glow a little.
“Fast little buggers,” the old man shook his head, “Impossible to catch one you know? Can barely see ‘em.”
“Like what people say about us wisps,” said Eaden, “Though they never come close. The bad ones hang out in the swamps, luring people to their dooms in the mud.”
Aeden stammered, “Though we don’t do that. We call wisps who do that Marshfires.”
There was a short pause.
        “Are trolls smart?” asked Killian.
        “Nope.” said Eaden.
Killian was fidgety. He hadn’t done anything for ever. Nothing exciting was happening.
“Down this way.” said Iobar, leading them down a dark alley.
Great, thought Kai, More alleys. He went along anyways. They went down, the alley until they came to a sudden stop. Iobar took out a small key, brass, with runic designs. He put it up to the wall, just touching it by the end, and a hole appeared. Not really a hole, more a portal. He turned the key, and the outline of a door drew itself in a large, vertical rectangle, and soon became tangible. It was a red door, simple, but for one feature: it had two knobs, one on the right, and one on the left. The right one was silver, while the other was gold.
“An Aether Portal.” said the Sorcerer, “I really could do this anywhere, but I think it would look kind of weird if an old man started poking uselessly at a wall with a key in broad daylight, don’t you?”
“Yeahh…” said a very confused Aeturnus.
“The gold one works like a normal door, it just opens to a bare wall, but the silver one, the silver on is different! It opens the door to whatever place the key says. for example, this key is for the Eiffel tower.”
        “We’re going to Paris?”
“Hahahahahahahaha! No. That would take an insane amount of power! I just wanted to show you this.”
        “Why have the gold handle?”
Iobar ceased his eyebrows for a second, then decided; “Magic!”
        “For some reason.” said Eaden.
