The Capitol Games

The Arena Part One

I stood in the tube waiting to be taken up into the arena.
I was scared out of my wits, but I tried to appear calm.

My plan was simple:
1. Get supplies form the cornucopia
2. Find a safe place and meet up with Tristan

Once I met up Tristan we'd come up with more plans.

Suddenly I was in the arena. It was a lush, forest landscape.
I looked to my left and saw Tristan.

I nodded to him, which meant he would go and find a place for us to
be safe, and I would get the supplies.

5...4...3...2...1..

I took off running, I saw Tristan running in the opposite direction.
I grabbed two backpacks, a bow with 24 arrows, and a few knives.

As I was about to grab a spear for Tristan,
when the tribute from area 3 who had made fun of Tristan for holding my hand attempted to attack me.

Without thinking, I threw the knife at his heart.
A cannon went off, I made my first kill.

I grabbed the spear and took off running the same direction I'd seen Tristan go.
I ran for a few hours before I saw a lake with a cave near it.

"That's where Tristan must be." I thought and went inside.
Sure enough, Tristan was there.

"Hi." I said remembering we were pretending to be in love I bent over to kiss him.
"I got supplies!" I said and showed him the things I'd gotten.

"Nice!" He said and grabbed the spear and a backpack.
The backpacks held food and water.

He kissed me, on the cheek.
"Thanks Dawn." he whispered.

A silver parachute landed outside the cave filled with fruit.
I grabbed it and brought it inside.

I noticed some poisonous berries on a bush outside, and a brilliant plan formed in my mind.
"Tristan! I'm going to fill this with poisonous berries, then I'll
drop it on some tributes. They think it's a good meal? It's poison!"

"You are brilliant Dawn!" Tristan said.
Soon our plan would be in action...
