Time has come
War was terrible, I hated it! I couldn't bare the fact of any lives being lost, I couldn't and still can't understand why those Nazi soldiers could go dropping bombs randomly on innocent families' homes and then come home and have dinner with their own family! It sickened me. But the only thing that kept me going was Kaiser. One day I was listening to the radio, Vera Lynn was singing "We'll meet again", the loveliest song in the world, when all of a sudden, "We interrupt this song because of an important announcement.." and it carried on with a speech from Charles De Gaulle, he was a French general during World War 2, he said a few touching words in his speech, but not enough to stop me from worrying about the war. I started crying as I heard the latest news about the German soldier that died who had a pregnant wife, I wanted Hitler to see the lives he was ruining through this war he had caused. But when Kaiser seen my tears, he rested his head on my knees and slipped his paws under my hands, I stood up, and he did too! I dropped his paws but he put them on my waist and started stepping backward and forward, he was dancing! I held his paws and we danced together, Vera Lynn came back on, this time she was singing "White Cliffs of Dover", it was magic. I was so happy, the song finished though and it was on to the advertisements for rationing and all that jazz, so I went downstairs to get a cup of water, when I heard something I wished I hadn't."Dorle, I have to do it. Soldiers are dying, younger than me, they have lives to live and I-" "Dagobert! You have a family, 2 children and I am your wife! You can not walk out and do this! Keep out of the war, it's no use fighting, especially for that cold blooded dictator!" I had never heard my mama's stern voice, she sounded angry and sad at the same time. I knew what was going on. Hitler didn't just want Britain and all those other countries to suffer, he wanted families to suffer."
"Mama? Papa? Is it true?" they were startled to see me, my mother tried to hide her face, father looked around the kitchen for a distraction, "Oh little bear, papa was just going to..." "Work," he said, grabbing his jacket, "I should be back by supper. Good by my love." he kissed mama, she sighed and rolled her eyes, "Zwiebelkuchen alright for supper?" he smiled at her over his shoulder, "Goodbye my darling. And I'll see you soon little bear." my mother looked at me and clutched me to her chest, "Anjelica, I think we all knew this was going to happen. Your father is a good man, he will do good."
A life of pain begun right as my mama said this.
