The Shadow Hunter

Escape part 1

The patrols were still extremely active, using the flying drones overhead to guide their search. A plan started formulating in the Shadow Hunter's mind...The biggest threat would be from the GWs on the ground. He wanted to get out with as few casualties possible; his protocol had changed since the run-in with the other Galaga Warrior that had almost given him away.
It was hard to see past the glowing visor; if anyone could understand that, it was him. All that being said, there was no chance at making it out of the jungle with the drones in the sky. Armed with this military-grade plasma rifle, the Shadow Hunter could eliminate that problem in a minute or two; getting out of the area undetected by the GW would be the hard part. In fact, once he fired the rifle into the sky he would be detected, so getting out of the area without killing too many GWs would be the hard part. The Shadow Hunter kept his back to a tree until the iconic whirring sound of a drone grew loud enough to be overhead, then calmly stepped out of cover and fired into the air.
