Doll Okiku
This doll dressed in a kimono once belonged to Okiku, a little girl who died of a fever in 1918. Her family was praying in her memory to the doll and some time later, her hair began to grow. Convinced that the spirit of their daughter had her old toy, they did analyze the hair. The results confirm that they are of human origins. In 1938, the family moved and decided to entrust the doll Mannenji temple where she lives since. Every year, a ceremony in honor of the girl and her hair held off. To date, no one has yet been able to explain how the hair continues to grow.
