Chapter 2
"Myra, Myra, Myra! Guess what?" I ran up behind my best friend."Oh, hey, Cassidy. Whta?" She said gently as always.
"I got my powers!" My smile gleamed in her face.
"Wow, that's amazing, Cass! What can you do?" She said her eyes flashing. Her eyes were the one thing you needed to get use to if you wanted be her friend. They were a blue that resembled ocean water ni a shattered mirror but they were human eyes. There was no pupil and they were huge. They were mesmerizing but creepy in a bewitching way.
"My mom said it's the power of restoration! Nothing as cool as yours but ya know, I'll take what I can get!"
"What can you restore?"
"Anything and everything? I was experimenting a lot with it over the weekend. Do you notice anything different?" I smiled proudly.
"Your face, it's, it's---"
"Clear!" I cut her off and she just smiled. "I can restore my skin to perfection now."
"Don't you think you should restore more important things?" Myra laughed.
"Like what?" I laughed.
"Your locker for one." She said as three books fell out of my locker. I laughed and we went to class. In my opinion, Myra had one of the coolest powers. She could learn anything she wanted to if she saw someone else do it. Once she told me she spent a day just looking up cool things and finding videos of them so she could learn. If you asked her to do anything she could do it but she was fair about it. She never did any competitions or anything where she would have an unfair advantage. I liked Myra because he offset my loud, eccentric, and extrovert personality. The whole day I spent cleaning things, fixing things, and bragging about my new power. By the end of te day, everyone knew about my new abilities.
"Cassidy, since you now have these talents we need you to go to the Mutant Study Company." The principal said to me in between classes. Everyone knew the MSC. They had all information on all mutants everywhere and were basically the mutant government. "You need to go now so that we know your powers won't be a danger to anybody else." I nodded and Mr. Spire led me to the front doors. Two smiling women in white lab coats met me there.
"Hi, Cassidy. I'm Becca and this is Cara. We will be your MSC guides for the next week. zyour parents have been notified as always and I'm sure you've heard of this process before."
"I have." I said shyly.
"Excellent!" Becca said peppily. They led me to a white limo that had MUTANT STUDY COMPANY printed in blig, bold, blue letters. Once we had gotten in and settled down, Becca said "Let's start with the basics. Name?"
"Cassidy Claire."
"Age?"
"14."
"Grade?"
"8th."
"School?"
"Blooming's."
"Grade average?"
"Straight A's."
"Favorite subject?"
"English."
"Hobbies?"
"Sports, writing, performing."
"Pets?"
"3 cats and a dog."
"Syblings?"
"None."
"Great. And look we're here!" I saw out the window a massive edifice completely made out of glass. "So you'll be here for a week, think of it as summer camp." Her smile wasn't exactly reassuring.
