Chapter 1
I sat at home just munching on chips while watching a movie. My typical Saturday. Lazily, my eyes wandered to the clock. I nearly spit out my chip, 4:52! My mom was coming home at 5! Where had the time gone? I launched up and crazily started throwing things in places. "Oh, God. Oh, God! Oh, God! Mom's gonna kill me!" I had forgotten to do my chores. Again. I tried to get the room looking as nice as possible. I looked to the clock again. 4:56. I sighed and thought I should just start writing a will. I would give all my blankets to my cats... I shook my head, trying to focus. I looked at the pig sty before me. Jokingly, I threw up my hands and said "May the force be with you." and then my hands glowed. My eyes grew wide. I must have imagined it. I focused really hard, concentrating ball my energy into my hands. My palms tingled and my fingers shook. "It can't be..." I breathed. But it was. Bluish tendrils snaked out of my palms and coiled around various objects. The smoke-looking things then picked the thing up and carried it away. My mouth fell open as I watched the tendrils clean the room for me. Everything it touched became spotless. I looked to the clock 4:58. When my eyes returned back to the magical blue smoke, most of it was all gone but what was left behind was incredible. The room looked like no one had ever even touched it. There was no stains in the carpet or tables, the windows were crystal clear, there was nothing out of place. My mouth was a gaping hole but on the inside I was partying so hard. I ran down into the kitchen excitedly and put my hands up. Nothing happened. I looked at my palms, mystified. "May the force be with you?" I said cautiously. Nothing. I stretched my fingers out and focused, my palms tingled and i exhaled hard. With that the power surged through me and more smoke exploded out of my hands. I closed my eyes and focused on my breathing but when I did open my eyes I was relieved to see that the kitchen was equally spotless as the TV room. My grin grew. It had finally happened! I looked to the clock. 5:02. I ran to the door and saw my mother's car pull in.I sprinted out to the car. "Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom! It happened! I told you it would!" I pressed my face up against the window. "Mooooom, get out of the car! I want to show you!" She rolled down the window, patient as ever.
"I can't get out. You're pressing on the door."
"Oh. Sorry." I said stepping back from the car. My mother got out of the car.
"Now, what did you want to show me?" she said gathering her things.
"I got my powers!" I squealed. She stopped dead and turned to me.
"What?"
"I got my powers is pretty self-explantory."
"Well, what are they?" She was cautious with her words which confused me but I was too excited to comment on them.
"Cleaning!" She burst out laughing. She started to cry and hr face got really red. "I'm serious. I know it's kinda ironic given my issues with cleaning."
"Come on, now. If you're serious, show me." I didn't understand why she was being so non-chalant about this but I was ignoring it.
"Come inside!" I took her by the hand and showed her the kitchen. Her face dropped and lost all color. She was speechless. "I know it's sudden but think about how cool this is. Now you never have to yell at me for doing chores again!" I saw my old cat walk by. "Ooo, ooo, watch this!" I put my palms out, focused, and concentrated on my breathing. Then boom the smoke curled out from my hands and enveloped the cat. My mom made a little squeaky noise as the smoke pulled back. The disgusting matted fur was gone and the color had returned to him. He ran away faster than I had every seen him go.
"You don't have the power of cleaning per say, but the power of restoration."
