May (very short)

*May's P.O.V.* I watched Melody run away and sighed. Alice and Jessica were giggling, saying something about Jack, but I wasn't listening. My best friends are bullies, I can't change that. I don't like to bully people, but if I don't........
I just want to fit in. I'm a Freshman, so I still have three more years to go in this hellhole. I've got to be sure I spend this time on top! Sticking close to the girls should keep me there for now. I shouldn't worry about this "hobby". They're my friends, so I should just look past it.
Even so...
I can't imagine what it'd be like for that human girl. She's not even the same race as us! It's impossible for HER to fit in! Ha! It must suck. She's just so... weird... and different... and... Agh! I try to distract myself and end up with something worse!
"May!" I snapped out of my thoughts to see Alice grinning at me. "Come on, let's go. Or do you want to be left behind surrounded by these losers?" I feigned a laugh.
"You kidding? The sooner we get away from here, the better!"

I walked into my 7th hour class, a smile growing on my face. Chao Care. I love chaos! They're so little and cute; they're the only ones I can be myself around. Jessica and Alice don't take this class with me, so it feels like I have the classroom all to myself. I don't, of course, but you know what I mean.
I settled into my chair at the back of the room, holding back a small laugh as Mark and Melody dashed in a second before the tardy bell, again. Honestly! They may not deserve how they're treated, but they sure can be silly!
Mark glanced a me sadly and I looked down guiltily. Darn, they heard me. Maybe I can apologize after school today...... It's not like I haven't been planning to for weeks anyway.....
Miss Cream stood in front of us and spoke, her chao, Cheese, at his usual place above her shoulder. "Hello, everyone. As you know we have a book quiz today, so, clear your desks and get a writing utensil."
Groans around the room.
The young teacher continued with a smile. "A friendly reminder that whoever passes this test will be given their own chao next week." She gestured towards the corner of the room where colorful eggs where being safely stored and incubated. "This chao will be theirs to care for for the rest of the school year, and can be brought home after."
The class's groans replaced with excited whispers, than silence as Miss Cream handed out our tests. Now I HAVE to pass this test! I looked at the eggs in the corner and smiled. My own chao..... A companion I can love and talk to without worry.... How great would that be?
