2nd experiment

I wake up and find myself in some sort of laboratory. It's extremely large, but has a lot of space. I see Eggman at a computer. It's very faint though, as I am inside a machine. Eggman looks at me, then opens the glass door. He holds a syringe in his hand.
"Finally. You're awake," he says.
"What's it to you?"
"One thing we must get clear here, Jackie," he begins. "You like being with the boys, don't you? You've opened your heart to them. And they have to you, too. I'm not kidnapping you, Jackie. I'm offering you the chance to start a new life. To be like them. Like Sonic."
"Why do you care, Eggman?" I challenge him.
"My dear, I know how much you are bullied. That is why you are my second experiment in this. I just inject you with this serum that knocks you unconscious, then you'll wake up a whole new person."
Second experiment?
"So someone else had this done before me?" I ask him.
"Yes. You can trust me. I've done this before."
He flicks my hair away from my neck and inserts the needle, pressing down on the plunger.
"Just lie down and close your eyes. Everything will be fine," he says.
The last thing I see is that he closes the glass door.

When I wake up this time, I'm in a cell. I look around, and the cell is small. I see someone approaching the door, with a glass shard. He throws it at the back of my head. I scream and take it out, and I see my reflection.
"Oh my God," I say.
Eggman was true to his word.
He made me a different person, like he said.
He turned me into a Mobian!
"Looks like you're his second experiment," someone says. Someone in the cell.
I turn and see a light blue hedgehog. "I was his first. I used to be a human too."
"You're... the girl who... who went missing?" I ask.
"Yes and no," she says. "I'm Sapphire. It was said I went missing, but I never was. 5 years ago, Sonic and the others landed here, and I met them. But Eggman got me. He turned me into a Mobian, and the whole town I lived in went crazy. There were suddenly loads of search parties."
"Well they wouldn't give a toss about me," I reply. "No one likes me, because I'm different. Sonic and the others are the only ones who care about me now."
"You have me now," Sapphire tells me, and drags me into a hug. "And we're gonna get out of here. Any ideas?"
I look around and see an air vent. "Up there. C'mon," I say, and I start climbing up to the vent, Sapphire close on my heels.
"So," I start. "what's it like being a Mobian?"
"You get used to it. You get cool new skills you couldn't have as a human," she replies. "You're a hedgehog now, so you can jump higher."

We reach the end of the vent, and we find ourselves outside the machine.
"The others will be here soon," she says. "By the way, I never got your name. What is it?"
"I'm Jackie," I reply.
"You're Jackie?! Oh my God," she says. "It's true... you're the one destined to save us!"
"So they say."
"Look, here they come! Sonic! Over here," Sapphire shouts to an oncoming plane.
"Sapph!" I hear Sonic calling back. "You're okay! Hey, who's this?"
I turn round to Sapphire. "Forgot to tell you. Sonic hasn't seen me like this before." Then I turn to face Sonic. "Sonic it's me, Jackie."
"Jackie?" He asks me. "What happened to you?"
"Eggman did this to me," I reply. "He said he could give me a new life as a new person. And he was right. He's turned me into a hedgehog. Like you."
"Look, no time for that," Sapphire interrupted. "We gotta get back to Mobius!"
"The capsule's in the park," I remind them. "Come on!"
And at that we boarded the plane and flew back to my house to pick the others up, then to the park.
